Anyone who has been to a golf event where Rory played, besides Tiger was there any player that was followed like him and rooted for like him?

Rory was the favorite this weekend. Let me say it slow for you...

IT WAS THE CAREER GRAND SLAM!

That is an amazing achievement and can't be understated. I was on the edge of my seat watching Sunday wanting to see him pull it off.

Rory is a huge draw, and has a lot of fans. But for you to say that he hasn't lost a lot of fans over the last couple of years due to his off the course actions is not true. Just a month ago a college kid gave him a harmless heckle in a pracrtice round and Rory flipped out and took the phone and had the kid removed from the course. Give me a break.

I guess he expects all Rory “haters” to go act like lunatics at the events he’s at.

Dude has always been crazy as frick, but the last couple of days are something else. Completely unhinged at like an OMLandshark level

Wow, that's impressive.

Having the two most popular players on the planet being in the final group together will do that.

Other than just being a good golfer, I really have no idea how someone could root for Rory over Bryson though. I picked Rory to win and I'm glad he got the monkey off his back but the dude is an absolute snooze fest.

Hell even his wife wasn't excited after he won. She had the Melania Trump "I really don't want to be here" look on her. Probably because not long ago Rory was banging the braud interviewing him and she has to sit there and watch.

Ok cool

And never made it a grandiose point that he was the favorite. I simply stated it and lnch, mingo, and rb10 had to have their jabs thrown in

You are making my point

You did act like a lunatic on the internet this week. You constantly rooted for implosion. Made grandiose claims of implosion, etc. Just oozed hate from your little internet pores

But in person when you are “touching real grass” you don’t. Even you, little mingo, would have been silently caught up and internally positive in emotions if you would have been in person watching Rory at the masters

Real life brings far more of the positive out in us, where the internet breeds negativity and trolls

This. The fans at Augusta knew what they were watching and wanted to be part of history as well. Only 5 people had the career slam before Sunday. Those people are: Sarazen, Hogan, Nicklaus, Player, and Tiger!

Sunday was amazing and watching him come down the stretch was the biggest roller coaster ride of a sporting event that maybe I’ve ever seen.

I wasn’t “happy” to see him win, because I’m not a Rory guy, but I certainly wasn’t distraught either. It was an awesome day.

I of course, was bantering here, and with my real friends as I’ve made some provocative Rory takes in the past. That’s what makes sports fun.

You’re a weird guy, man

Your quite literally proving my point even more

You are saying you play up the hate and extreme takes on the internet but in real life you were chill about it and enjoyed it

Rory isn’t everyone’s favorite golfer, but the extreme hate is an internet phenomenon for him. Your posting and now what you are saying falls perfectly inline with that statement

I’m laughing at your notion that only people on the internet dislike Rory.

Of the 15 guys, all golfers, that I watched the 2nd 9 Sunday with only 2 of them wanted Rory to win, and one of them was only because they put money on him.

The crowd at Augusta not actively booing him when he won doesn’t prove anything you’re saying. You’re unhinged.

You can keep saying this over and over and over and over. It doesn’t make it true.

Rory is the most exciting golfer around. He can bomb it 350, hit unbelievable shots and then blow an easy chip putt. Not sure what you consider exciting in golf, but if Rory isn’t an exciting player to you, then maybe you don’t like golf.

How many of them had gray treated tips, the big Kenny Perry type visors, wearing a loud Bogey Bro or Bad Birdie Polo over a size 40 waist. And had a long and fat cigar and sandals?

I don’t understand what you are trying to say. I was saying the same shite I was saying here to my buddies who know who I am. I wasn’t hiding behind the internet. I didn’t want him to win when the day started, he won… in dramatic fashion. It was fascinating television. I’m still not a Rory “fan” I’ll continue to root for other players, but I’m also not distraught that he won. It was cool.

If you’re point is I wouldn’t go mental on Rory or lambast him in person, well then, I guess you’re right, I’m not a psychopath.

We’re all in our 30s so, zero. Well, one of them is fat a frick, so one I guess.

It’s hilarious that you people can’t comprehend that some people aren’t going to like the same golfers as you. This would be like wondering why everyone doesn’t like the same college or pro teams.

It’s weird.

Ahh yes, if I don't like Rory I don't like golf. You got it buddy! I'm on the MSB and Golf board all the time talking about golf, players, equipment, courses, etc because, you got it, I don't like golf.

Nowhere did I say that his game wasn't great. Of course it is. But that's not the only reason I choose to like a golfer. Part of why I choose a favorite golfer is how they are as a person. And Rory is a dick, therefore I'm not a big fan. Pretty simple.

But you said Rory is a snooze fest

Of course you can dislike him, but calling him a snooze fest is kinda crazy. That dude is a crack cocaine roller coaster

Again, as a person off the course, not as a golfer.

Ok fair enough. But calling a golfer a snooze fest usually means “boring”

I wouldn’t describe Rory as boring on or off the course. Would be like referring to Phil as a “snooze fest”
