mcguire run was relatively brief and no one thinks his biggest years were PeD free. his close competitor with cubs also used.
Ruth is #1 because his numbers were so much better than the then-current competition.
id have aaron next based on longevity.
I think mike schmidt before bonds. best hr in league many years and #2 some. Schmidt not a user.
for sizzle no one close to PED bonds.

You're opinion is wrong, but I will die on that hill with you.

McGwire was definately one of the great homerun hitters.
He had 3 or 4 seasons cut short because of injury. Otherwise , he hits another 30-40 homers, putting him up over 600 total and ends up around Ken Griffey Jr's total of 630.
And the steriod talk, let's remember - it was NOT against MLB rules at the time. It was widespread and MLB turned a blind eye to it for a number of years until law enforcement authorities began looking into it.

Purest swing in the history of the game. Hell the video of him taking BP at the WBC in his 50s is still smooth and sweet.

This is the greatest HR hitter of all time. He did it on beer, cigars, and multiple women a night instead of steroids.

saw McGwire launch one off Orel Hershiser back in 1997, that not only went over the bleachers in LF, but actually left a huge dent in the Budweiser sign at the bottom of the scoreboard at Jacobs Field…still can’t get over that shite lol
