Yea it’s mostly gone there’s still a small part of it left. Old admin messed that up. There were plenty of other options for that med school that didn’t involve ruining one of the few football traditions we had.

They built a medical school and parking lot in most of the area. I left Monroe in 2005 and haven't been to game since.

I go home about once or twice a year. Mainly to duck hunt. I went through campus and saw the new building. I mean it is nice but why on God’s green earth did it have to go right there? The one damn spot that was a happy place for ULM fans for years.

If it's elite then why does the field house architecture not match the rest of the stadium. Seriously Louisiana Tech started the quest for excellence in 2010 to build the Davison athletic complex. It opened in 2015. Sure it took longer to get the funds than people wanted. ULM effectively rushed things and created the worst looking D1 stadium.

Thanks ULM, for reminding me that San Jose State's stadium isn't the worst looking in d1FBS.

I don’t think ULM has the worst stadium in college football.

South Alabama doesn’t even have a stadium on campus.

yeeep. Dr Bruno did a lot of good for the school, academically, but he did a lot to poop all over the few traditions we had. This, giving up the “Louisiana” name fight, giving athletics the middle finger on numerous occasions.

I didn’t understand why it couldn’t go next to the pharm school on that plot of land they have there. Maybe the hospital there didn’t want the competition idk. Heck even if it had to go on that part of campus there was plenty of other space that didn’t involve ruining the grove.

Do you watch this video instead of in-conference CUSA games coached by Cumbie?

This is false and has been false since 2020.

Money talks, he knew they were cutting a fat arse check, probably opened up a map of the campus and said pick a spot.

It is a shame the grove is gone but the building makes the campus a lot nicer on the eyes. ULM has literally the perfect layout to be one of the best campuses in the country with the bayou cutting right thru it, whoever the idiots were that designed the buildings in the 60s-90s should be ashamed of themselves. Bruno started ramping up the renovations and new builds as he was heading out the door and berry seems to be continuing that. It looks better than it ever has.

Like I said a lot of good academically which is his main job. It just sucks he couldn’t do it without pooping on some of the things he did.

Over all I think he was a net positive for the university as a whole. Just a big negative for athletics.

ETA: I actually like Bruno a lot as a person. I wasn’t necessarily super involved on campus outside of track/xc and he knew me by name some way or another. Would always take the time to ask how I was doing when he saw me. He’s a great guy.

I stand corrected.

I had been to Mobile for work back like about 10 years ago and thought it was not great how far the stadium was from campus (never actually went but just looked at it on the map). The area around campus seemed decent.

Agreed. It was just so heart wrenching for those of us who were there in the 80s to watch the Swearingen years, to see pretty much everything decline. If you look at the ULM page on all the presidents, even they can't find anything good to say about him. It's like those 10 years just spiraled down the drain. Bruno did accomplish a lot. I feel like Berry is a great guy for the job now.
