After watching Mahomes in the game against the Bengals, I would say that his "so called high ankle sprain" was highly embellished or exagerated. There's no way he was nursing the injury and it not be aggravated even more during the duration of the game. He was being hit from all directions and still managed to complete the game.

There were multiple plays where a healthy Mahomes would have broke the pocket and gets additional yards.

I think it was pretty obvious he was limited in mobility compared to his normal self. Even the way he was throwing you could tell he was doing his best to keep his weight off his right ankle he wasn't 100% possibly exaggerating the severity to drum up drama by sports media? Absolutely, but he definitely wasn't 100 or even 90%. We also saw a guy play with a torn UCL on Sunday in the NFCCG, so I'm never flabbergasted with some of these guys playing through pain or the power of the shots they take in the locker room.

He’s hurt. But he probably embellished it a bit. It is the social media age after all.

LSU fans still melting 3 days later. Over a team they never heard of before the 2020 draft.

This doesn’t hit the way you want it to when it’s coming from a fanbase that claims a guy who they benched and caused him to leave for another school

I've had a high ankle sprain. It was like having a broken ankle. In fact, was told I would have been better off and recovered faster if it was a broken bone. A severe high ankle sprain is bad and no way Mahomes could have played on it. Every time I tried to cut or change direction there was nothing there and my ankle would roll over.

My guess is it was a mild sprain, a tweak of the ankle, and the severity of it was embellished for theater.

2019: WHO DAT is better no one care about your wHo DeY

2022: Wears Bengals jersey into Superdome for a Saints game

Also seem to be the same guys who crucify Brees for walking back his kneeling comments while purposefully remaining ignorant to Burrows comments.

No fricking way. Go watch my gif. I thought he broke or disclocated it. shite was bad

And we could see in the second half last week how hobbled he was. He was a damn statue in the pocket

It's real. Needed Chad Henne to carry him the week before.

There were quite a few plays where you could tell he wasnt moving like normal. He definitely wasnt 100%.

I think he is hurt but doesn’t have the high ankle sprain. Even former players said the time table for a high ankle sprain. He would be a medical miracle to even be leaving the pocket with a high ankle sprain.

I think it's actually made Mahomes a better passer keeping him in pocket and max protecting
It's like preparing to face a totally different offense
Sometimes Mahomes freelances too much and it costs the team

My doctor told me the same thing about 25 years ago when I sprained my ankle. It was two months before he okayed me to go back to work.

Well this is exactly the idiotic take I would expect from you, Nicholas.

Yes, not being able to plant normally on his ankle without significant pain definitely made him a better passer.
