He was decent his first year, but film got out on him and the Patriots org imploded. He is still capable of being a low end starter.

Symptom of the current FOMO attitude of GMs toward QBs in today’s NFL.

Half of the supposed first round QBs in this year’s draft would be third round picks or later ten years ago.

Most 6th round picks don’t last in the NFL beyond 2 or 3 years. Quite a few of them even get cut before the season starts. I don’t know if Mac will get better but he can be at least be a career backup kind of guy

But the other option is Mac Jones. Isnt there any other option that wont require losing a draft pick?

I think I'd rather a front office employee steal another 22M...

Kidding, obviously but meh.

Which was a worse pick? Lance or Jones? I lean towards Lance.

3rd pick vs 15th pick… yeah

That was a terrible draft for QBs

I'm thrilled to see Mac out of NE. No QB had to endure more self-destructive and stupid decisions from a head coach trying to reinvent the offensive wheel. Belichick lost his job for dumb reasons that still only he knows why. Going from the Pro Bowl and finishing second in Rookie of the Year to being coached by an OC who was a D-line coach the year before is still a record for stupidity that is unmatched in the annals of NFL folklore.

And Trevor Lawrence is still spitting out the bit in Jacksonville. The last thing they have is a settled QB position. May the mayhem continue.

Maybe not.
There are more than a few teams that will have a QB competition this year though

No shite. His 2nd and 3rd years were a fricking clown clinic in coaching. Had a DC as OC in 2022, and then one of the worst OCs Bama has ever had in 2023. It's like Belichick was intentionally sabotaging things.

I was unaware there was a way for Alabama to play 40 QBs in a season

Jags fan here. I hated it this morning when I heard it but why not improve yourself by bringing in a player that can step in if needed. Would rather them take him with a 6th then some camp arm with a late round pick. Last year the wheels came off when Trevor got hurt the first time. That was one of three injuries he played though last season. They should have sat him for a little bit longer and instead Trevor got put out on the field a week to early a few times.
