He could be a great coach. One of the most elite players in the league at reading and understanding offenses.

I'm just happy the Saints don't have to face him twice a year anymore.

Glad he's calling it quits, he has the personality of someone you would have to drag off the field to get him to quit. No doubt he had pressure from others, I'm glad he gave in. I do believe one of the best to ever play the position

Like posted above...this is going to continue to be a growing trend. Players getting their big money upfront and retiring after 5-8 years.

For those downvoting the slam dunk HOF comment see below.
8 seasons, 7 time pro bowler, 5 first team all pro 2 second team all pro, DPOY and DROY. Definitely a HOFer

as another Saints fan... I agree completely with this sentiment
and that should be seen as the highest of respect for the way he played
ETA: the "chess" battles between Luke & Brees at the LOS pre-snap should be a thing of legend

I thought getting in the HOF was hard?

Smart move. He’s had too many concussions. He’s made money.
His family is also apparently loaded.

He heard they were trying to trade him to Cincinnati along with draft picks in a package for something....

The Saints fan in me is glad he's retiring. But the football fan in me is sad.
Hell of a football player. Now I only wonder with only 8 years, does he have a resume that could eventually put him in the HOF.

He will be in the Hall, if for no other reason than the fact that this is going to become more common.
Dude will also be on TV in a heartbeat if he wants it.
