Speed up to slow down.
Deal could be done in the next couple of weeks - play starts in fall of 2025 ( I think he said 2025)
Seems everyone but Big12 teams were prepared.

The Big XII will add Cincinnati, Louisiana, Houston, and explore Tulane, SMU, Colorado St as a possibilities. Louisiana and Houston will become a rivalry known as the Oil Bowl.
So the Big XII becomes the AAC in terms of talent? That conference would suck royally. The best teams would be Oklahoma State, Baylor, and West Virginia, and there's no way they stick around long with a conference like that.
You would never see a Big XII team in the Playoff again as long as it remains 4 teams.
ULL has a good thing going, but I just don't see the Big XII picking them up. How does the conference gain by adding ULL? That's the big question.
Hell, how do they gain by adding anyone other than Cincinnati, Colorado State and/or Tulane? Tulane adds nothing from the competition standpoint, but adds a TV market. Cincinnati is a new TV market and gives West Virginia someone closer to home to play. Colorado State gets the Big XII back into the Rocky Mountain State. But SMU and Houston do nothing for the conference.

curious what the juicy post said too as I don't see a scenario where Tech and/or ULL benefit from this. I'd love to be wrong and see some Louisiana schools catch a break. KTG - when you say "best option overall", would you say better than the current situation?
If I am La Tech I try to get away from CUSA leadership ASAP

It appears LaTech has a deal in the works. It ain’t no P5 structure and it is not equally equitable but it seems decent.
But who the hell really knows - right now it is the SEC, Texas and OU that know anything. The rest of the schools are left pondering / planning.

how much you want to bet A&M isnt announcing its return to the big 12 on monday?
lulz
No football program is joining the PAC10 after what happened last year, and might again this year. So that leaves the Big12 as the go to conference for teams like Neb, Colo, and A&M, if they want a better shot at the playoffs. If Tex and OKLA join the SEC, the cry for expanded playoffs dies down because you end up with 4 major conferences (1 entry per conf) getting spots in the playoffs.
A&M left TX 9 years ago, and is now one of the top 4 teams in the nation. They dont see sitting around and letting that fade due to TX and OKLA. They will again create their own path. Like they did 9 years ago. Plus, they get to take a dump on the SEC, who outright lied to them, leaving them with 15 teams

NOLA is a terrible market for college football.

Ha! I screwed that up. I was told it would be a sliding distribution scale. LaTech would receive much less than some of the other programs.
