If Indiana can do it so can North Carolina State.

Cignetti was working his way up through the college coaching ranks for 40 years before he got to Indiana. Rivers has been a high school coach for 5 years.

Even North Carolina hired a former NFL HC.

Basically the same as 4A high school football

As a Giants fan, I sometimes wonder what that team would have been like with Rivers at quarterback instead of Eli. Rivers was a pretty damn good qb for a long time and his attitude/personality would have played well in the Big Apple.

His son was committed long before he became an option

And Rivers had a succession of potential elite QB sons, unlike Deion

Also, Deion isn't exactly smart.

College football (and then possibly the NFL) is about to be dominated by QBs with the last name Rivers and Manning for the next 20+ years.

That’s about the most exciting hire they could get, should be interesting to see if it can up their ability to attract talent.

Rivers seems like a bad hire, but it is NC State, so they’d accept 8-4 or 9-3 type seasons. The former coach should have been after the Vandy game.

I will assume it's a bad hire, but I didn't hear his pitch.

Supposedly when he interviewed with the Bills this offseason he just showed up with a notebook

Rivers doesn't strike me as an intelligent guy either after hearing him speak. he sounds like he lives in a trailer park.
