If the NHL is going to continue expanding, do you really want the Coyotes? The expansion draft would yield a roster better than what the Coyotes currently have.

If this is the only option to get a team, then go for it, but the expansion draft is a better setup.

I don't see the NHL going to 33 teams because that means they would soon after have to go to 34 to balance things out.

Thinking not Houston, but only because Houston and Atlanta were linked with potential expansion teams.

Unless another team is moving.

Hope Minnesota parts with the Aeros rights

That's the dilemma. Do you take a current crap team with some promising young talent now? Or roll the dice getting an expansion team X years down the road?

If they’re relocating to the East it’s going to be Atlanta

Then who are you they gonna move to the west? Good luck trying to tell the red Wings to move back. Atlanta would likely end up in the west.

That was rumored back in 2005. Detroit wanted East, and ATL was the westernmost team in the Eastern conference at the time. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happenwhen the league eventually returns

That logo kicked arse.

That team is in the conference finals as Carolina just for those who don't know.

Absolutely NOT Atlanta, which is literally the worst pro sports town in this country.

The Hawks averaged 104% capacity at home games this year

The Braves had the 4th highest attendance total in MLB last year, and the teams in front of us have bigger stadium capacities

The Falcons just suck right now and no one wants to watch a god awful product. But they packed their stadium when good, too.

But go off

Good post.

But people like the poster you responded to only know/think what ESPN/National media tells them to. They are simps.

Detroit wanted East for many years. They aren’t gonna boss around an original six team this time around if that happens.

Would they really choose that when there is already a Golden Knights in the NHL?

I'd really like to see them bring the Thrashers name back. But it'll probably be another name.

Their colors kicked arse....

How did Atlanta manage to get not one but two teams with shitty owners? Who is the frontrunner currently for ownership in Atlanta?

On the Houston front, Tilman Fertitta is from Galveston (wonderful beaches ), owns the Rockets, Landry's Inc and was part of Billion Dollar Buyer and has a net worth of $7.6B. There are plenty of people who hate him because he is incredibly wealthy and the Rockets haven't been great lately but the guy has a business acumen considering he started out peeling shrimp for his dad's restaurant. Personally I think he could carve out a nice home for a future NHL team but I am willing to listen to why people think Atlanta is more deserving.

I mean it's hard for Atlanta to supposedly be the "worst" sports town when their okay bball team still averaged over 100% for home games and the Braves are top 5 in attendance.
