saw him play on the woodlawn team that was unstoppable back in the day. 2002-2003 IIRC, give or take a year.

Got our asses handed to us by Zwolle and Atlanta. Those teams in the late 90's and early 2000's were Fricking good.

Somehow there was a scheduling mix up in the summer league and that Parkview Baptist team ended up playing an incoming Freshman team that I was on for another school.

Their coach made a point for them to not back down and pressed us the entire first half. We didn’t get the ball across mid court until the 2nd quarter. I still have the video. It’s hilarious.

NISH had a few nice players in the late 90s early 2000s

Kelvin Price and Chris Manuel both played college basektball, Chris at UL then for the Globetrotters
Kelvin played a little at UL then at UNC Charlotte avg liked 12pts and 6boards, made it to the tourney

Now I think he's a boxer.

The 99 team was loaded with good players, lost to Hollis Price at the top 28 in 99

If you answered anything OTHER than Atlanta High School and those Smith boys from 95-96 and every other year they were there, you didn't see them play. The gym (and school) were so tiny you had to park down the street and that was of you got there an hour before the GIRLS Game. People would be packed in that gym, man... Derrick Smith broke his leg when he was a senior and missed half the season and
STILL scored over 4000 points in 4 years.
They are the only Class C team ever to win the Saints Classic Tournament in Lake Charles by beating 4 5-A schools. The team made history by having 4 players named to the all-tournament team . The team also won the former McDonald's Tournament in Alexandria. This team defeated Ouachita High School, ranked number one in Class 5-A, on their own floor.
In a 4-year span this team had compiled a record of 167 wins and 11 loses and was not defeated on its own floor. This team has won 3 Championships in a row,1996-1997 and 1995-96 with a 48-0 record and 1994-95 with a 42-3 record. They advanced to the Quarterfinals in 1993-94 and were state runners-up in 1992-1993 with a 35-7 record.
They were the best I ever saw.

Didn’t read thread but did anyone mention Chris Duhon? Best player in state in the late 90’s and it wasn’t even close

I don’t know what was in the water but those small towns north of Leesville (Zwoylee, Florien, and Anacoco) put out some tremendous talent back then. We inevitability got matched up with one of them in bi-district every year and would get waxed. Lacassine also had some pretty good teams for a small school back in the 90’s.
