Only meant to post data so all the level headed posters can discuss

For reference Saturday’s Golf Central Pregame on the Golf channel averaged 290k

Thankful that LIV has two weeks off so you can finally stop making threads

Serious question: How do you watch LIV?

It’s on the CW on the weekends

Free streaming on YouTube or LIV Golf + app on Thursday/Fridays

Do you think LIV Golf would get >1M viewers if it was on CBS or NBC?

At least give No Laying Up credit on this post since you copied and pasted it.

For reference I watched the final round fully on the LIV app and it was really good. Continue to hate.

I watched most of the round Saturday and it was a good tournament. Other than me not liking David Fehrety, it was a good broadcast. But to be paying billions of dollars to these guys, they need to get off the CW and get more viewers. Granted it's better than last year just being on YouTube and the ratings will probably grow, but nobody checks the CW.

I had to go to the search bar on YouTube to find it because looking at the guide it didn't even have it showing, it was like paid programming or something else so I didn't even click on it.

Maybe, but probably not. I think it depends on the event.
Only five or six of the remaining events are in the US and then they’d be competing for viewers with the PGA Tour and as of now, most people are going to continue to watch that.

Not a fan of golfers for leaving for LIV… the integrity of the game of golf is earning your spot. Playing great every week to keep making money… you have to go through a whole bunch of things just to get a PGA card. And the important thing was to make the cut to play the weekend. And with this LIV crap it takes all that away.

I think they would easily get 1M+ if they were on a better channel. Saturday you had DJ, Dechambeau, & Rahm in the final group together & DJ won by one shot after a birdie on 17.

2 weeks in a row, LIV has had a much better leaderboard & a more exciting finish than PGA. Unless you’re into watching a Nick Taylor/Charley Hoffman playoff

I didn’t know anyone watched golf outside of four weekends a year

The players are making big money. They don’t care how many watch.

Well it was the Wasted Management Open so a bunch of people watched to drink along with the fans that Zach Johnson and Billy Ho told to frick off.

This is the major problem LIV is running into. You can’t take a sport like golf and then try to divide that viewership.

And LIV posters on here will tell you how you can watch both and it’s great having more golf, without realizing nobody was begging for more golf or wants to watch two separate tournaments.

I feel like anyone who has gone to the WM watches when it’s on because it’s a time

Obviously it’s not a major but it’s definitely in the top 5 or 6 of most viewed tournaments so it’s not a fair comparison

LIV isn’t trying to divide it. LIV wants the two to co-exist & eventually have the best players in the world playing against each other more than 4 times a year. LIV doesn’t necessarily need to have a 14 week schedule & can adjust according to the PGA schedule.

The PGA banned them from playing in their events. Rahm would absolutely be at Genesis this weekend if they would let him. Hopefully that all gets resolved if/when the PIF/PGA deal happens & maybe pro golf is in a better spot in 2025.

Maybe nobody was begging for a LIV tournament on the same weekend as pebble beach or the WM Open, but plenty of golfers (including Rory) have been begging for a global tour.

The finish at the PGA Tour was actually pretty sweet if you ignore who was playing. And I know you’re all for the global angle so I’m pretty sure Canada was tuned into Nick Taylor.

And DJ ended up beating Peter Uhlein (who had trouble keeping his PGA Tour card) by 1.

I get the Rahm, DJ, Bryson angle. That was cool. But I also think people tend to stick to their routines, and course matters too, and the Waste Management is a much more exciting event than something people don’t know.
