Hold up. You're a panthers fan now? Dude, you've been a Seahawks, Broncos and now Panthers fan. Funny how this keeps going for you.
I'm pretty sure you've been the worst poster on the MSB for a while. It used to be TulaneTigerFan but it looks like he died or something (thankfully). can yoh maybe do the same?

Run to Daylight
OJ was on the 440 yard relay - USC track team that set the world record as college kids.
quote:
In 1967 USC rocked the world - and set a record-shattering feat, a world-record time of 38.6 seconds in the 440-yard relay in the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. track and field meet at Provo, Utah.
They broke the record by a full second and secured a place for themselves in track and field history, since yardage marks are a thing of the past in this age of metric measurements.
Even by metric standards, though, their time of 40 years ago holds up, not as a world record but as exceptional just the same. By making two conversions, from 440 yards to 400 meters and then from hand time to fully automatic timing, the 38.6 computes to 38.51, according to track statistician Tom Feuer.
Simpson was the third man in the relay order. His accomplishments have been well documented. He was, however, a legitimate 9.4 sprinter, which just enhanced his skills as a tailback.

Awful supporting cast huh?
The team with 10 probowlers and a top 3 defense.
Man i wish drew could have a terrible supporting cast like that.

I mean the defense that forced 22 INTs (1st), had 20 FFs (1st), 4 defensive TDs (T-4th), and 42 sacks (3rd) didn't help with the offense playing on short fields in every game right? That is averaging over an INT and a FF PER game.
Cam played very well, but some of you are the same ones that wanted to burn Wilson down for having an elite defense when people called him an elite QB and better than Cam.

It was different. In 1982 playoffs, Riggins ran the ball 136 times. That's 34 carries a game for 4 straight playoff games...and the man was 34 years old.

Hail

Hey watch your mouth, TTF was the fookin legend of gin alley back in the day, may his soul rest in pieces

They don't even have a top 5 defense and offensive lineman should not count when discussing probowlers. Stewart and Olsen are the only 2 offensive probowlers that actually help your argument. Stewart also missed the last 3 games....

How many of Cam's WRs made the Pro Bowl?
How many were chosen as Pro Bowl alternates?

Seattle Seahawks fan? What the frick? I want Denver to beat everyone and I want to see Cam Newton be successful when he is playing anyone other than Denver. I realize everyone is completely butthurt about Cam Newton's success, though.

Maybe that's because for Russell Wilson's 2 Superbowl years, he was responsible for 27 TDs (2013, 26 passing, 1 rushing) and 26 TDs (2014, 20 passing, 6 rushing).
Whereas Cam, in 2015, is responsible for 45 TDs (35 passing, 10 rushing).
If you can't see the HUGE difference there, I can't help ya.

The Panthers are all of a sudden a terrible team now? They have a top 5 defense, top 5 o-line and running game. They're by no means an "awful supporting cast."

Tell me about Carolina's supporting cast on offense. Tell me how great it is. That's obviously what my post was about considering I mentioned the scoring offense.
Posted on 1/4/16 at 8:00 am to TTsTowel
Carolina will not make the Super Bowl, and it will be because Cam has a subpar game and can't score enough to win despite a great effort by the defense. Bookmark this so you can reference it later.

I think the offensive line is ranked 12th in the league in sacks allowed and hits, so take that fwiw. Also, let's be honest, the running game thrives because of Newton, and it's not like Jonathan Stewart had/is having a year that makes you say, "Wow! Where would they be without him?!"
Posted on 1/4/16 at 8:28 am to TTsTowel
That's pretty impressive. Cam is having a heck of a year.

I can almost remember way back when, prior to the start of the season, when the entire Football World was laughing at the signing of LT Michael Oher and at Jonathan Stewart as the starting RB (he can never stay healthy!).
Oh, the good ol' days before minds have changed!

You are 100% correct here. If Cam has a subpar game (*ever*) the Panthers definitely tend to lose.
Carson Palmer had a subpar game yesterday. How'd the Cardinals do?
quote:
despite a great effort by the defense
You mean the same defense that gave up 28 pts in the 4th quarter to a horrendous Giants team? And only forced a horrendous Falcons team to punt the ball once the entire game? And gave up 21 points in the 2nd half to a sub-par Saints team? Gave up 17 points in the 4th quarter to a shitty Colts team? And 22 points in the 2nd half to a very average Green Bay team?
That defense?
People who STILL think that the Panthers are winning because of their defense are going out of their way to be self-delusional.

While I agree Newton should be the league MVP, this list (with the years) shows why trying to compare stats, especially in the passing game, in the NFL is now a complete joke.
The way defenders have been limited has basically turned the NFL into a 7 on 7 passing drill.
