I’ll trade the whole band to go a round further in the playoffs
St. Aug has the marching 100, where’s that gotten them?

their Football coaches desperately want to drop down.
How can you come here and make shite up? You do realize Holy Cross was the #1 seed in Div 1 select just 2 years ago.
The current staff has no desire to leave the Catholic League. None. Nor does the administration, or the alumni or the players.
The basketball team finished second in the Catholic league last year and the baseball team went 3 games with Brother Martin in the state semi finals last year. The wrestling team is among the strongest in the state year after year.
Holy Cross is quite good at punching above their weight.
In Div II:
The swim team has won 5 state championships in the last 7 years and the soccer team has won back to back soccer state championships.
I don't know where you are getting your information but Holy Cross is doing just fine.

Patterson being close to 2A is nuts to me. Not surprising but nuts. We’ve been 3A for so long

Y’all really want to be in the district and division with Karr and Curtis when you have a choice?

That Jena - Bunkie game could get ugly. Ive been told most of the team has the flu and some of the coaches do as well
Which team?

Yeah, I need to know that info.
I’m from Jena and haven’t heard of any illness on the team.

What a ridiculous statement. Should everyone just cancel their seasons if you don't deem them a "true contender" in November? Do you watch much football? You're a Chalmette fan right? This is rich coming from you.
High School football is about much more than who makes it to the Dome in the end. I would expect the biggest high school football supporter on the site to recognize that.

Absolutely. But I get why you wouldn't understand that.
Holy Cross wants to play in the district with their historical rivals: Jesuit, Brother Martin, St. Augustine, and Rummel. You think they want to leave that because of Karr and Curtis. It's good to play Karr and Curtis.
And also Chalmette.
Move to 4A in some district that makes no sense historically or geographically for the chance to win another game? Hard pass.

There are a lot of people that want to drop down associated with HC.

I have also heard rumblings about Holy Cross dropping down in some sports, but have also heard that they are bringing their swimming and soccer up to D1?
Early November we will know for sure.

I mean when you’re not it tends to get canceled for you
Maybe I read Tigerdroppings too much lol where one team wins a natty and the rest aren’t worth a shite?
It might be about more than who makes it to the Dome but that’s not the teams we talk about in this thread

We all know you’d be talking shite if you had the year Shaw had

Which team has the flu?

They are just different than the rest of us. lol

Whatever "a lot" means. In any population you will have differing viewpoints.
"A lot" more want to stay in the Catholic league.
By the next cycle they will have a 5A number or very close to it so it's a moot point anyway.

I heard about half of Bunkie's boys have the flu. Flipped situation from last year where Jena had half the team out when they played Bunkie. I was told they're pumping IVs in everyone to try and get them ready for Friday.

Since you mentioned Shaw, their enrollment is way up over the last 2 years. They should move back to the Catholic league. If the trend continues they won't have a choice in 2 years. They will be 5A.

I hope not, I'd rather Shaw stay D2 for a few more years at least and build momentum. Remember they made it to the dome several times in 4A and they were atrocious in 5A and the gate aint what it used to be. Draw kids into your school because you win, not because you get your brains bashed in with 5A comp. When kids start coming to Shaw like they did in the 90s, they think about a move.

Seems like everybody lost enrollment this cycle
