Thrive Academy is done for the season after a brawl with Capitol. Word is that Capitol may be done too.

I don’t think STM is too excited about facing the Barbe offense. Maybe they got some tips from Neville.

Catholic League thoughts from a casual:

Curtis beats BM to continue the BM spiral.

Rummel v Karr is interesting, but I think Karr beats them at The Jeff.

Chalmette v HC is also very interesting. I would love to see Chalmette win it but I think HC gets up for it and wins.

Aug crushes Jesuit.

CHS played a great quarter against St. Aug and a great half against Jesuit (both against starters in the first half)… HC hasn’t really shown a pulse yet in district

We have a bunch of streaks in play Friday night… we haven’t won at Tad Gormley since 1983, haven’t won a Catholic League game since 1988, and if we win, we’re pretty certainly going to the state playoffs for the first time ever from the Catholic League. We might still make it if we lose, but by no means is it certain.

About the other games, I heard Curtis is down a DB this week? They basically announced they’ll be constructing a new building (curious timing) and on the page it said “pray”. Pray in one hand and mess in the other and see which one fills up first

Rummel always gives Karr trouble…

And St. Aug should comfortably win, but no one will “crush” Jesuit

Why are you such a miserable person? Can you believe Christians and Catholics pray? You’re in the Catholic league now and you have an issue with a school praying for the success for a project on campus…..

You’re a bigger loser than I could imagine…..

Not because we really wanted to be. Besides Karr calls it the “Baptist League”

That’s not the issue. I just think the odds are it never gets built. Praying don’t get shite done, money does.

If Rummel can play mistake free ball on offense, should be a hell of a game... Have to keep the holding calls to a minimum.

Their defense is looking pretty solid, and they also have an advantage with its kicking game...

Side note:

Live stream on CCS...

Rummel/Karr

quote:

Coverage on CCS begins at 6:50 p.m. from Morris F.X. Jeff Stadium, with kickoff at 7. The game will re-air on the Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network Saturday at 3 p.m. Ken Berthelot and Wayde Keiser will describe the action.
