Walker 36
Belaire 0
Half

Defensive scoop & score and another long TD run for Walker. Walker turned it over deep in Belaire territory and missed a short FG. This could easily be 46-0.

Belaire is bad.

I can’t believe that Morgan City is 3-1. I can’t remember the last time they won 3 games the whole season.

De La Salle must be on the way down… which means look for them next year on our schedule

Final Ouachita Christian 48 Ouachita 14

I saw like two minutes of their stream and golly they look like West Monroe back in the day

Then I saw an article about every WR in Shreveport transferring to play with that new QB at Evangel

We drove in for the OPHS vs OCS game.

I counted 4 D1 players on OCS - minimum. Was really, really impressed with them. They are very well conditioned. Several of those kids can start for any school in the state.

Nice little puff piece in the Advocate about St. Michael's today. 6-4A is probably not as top heavy this year than last year - more parity. Will be interesting to see what they do with Plaquemine tonight.

Anyone have any insight into reclassification upcoming? Any schools looking like they will jump up or down in the BR area?

I had heard from coaches and friends in the area the group coming up could be special, I didn't expect them to be this talented across the board. I've seen them in the dome and in big matchups over the last 20 years where they would have a few athletes and spread it out, or some good lines and wear teams down, I don't think I've ever seen them have both. In what I have seen they have really good line play, athletes who are going to score in space (or create their own and score anyway), and still play Fitzhugh's brand of football. They are a tough team when they don't have the talent just because of how well coached they are. I was in agreement with many on here that their top 20 ranking in the preseason was too high for a 1A school. At this point in the season though, it's hard to say they aren't one of the top 15-20 teams in the state, and they might be higher than that.

Walker has 3 very good running backs and they run out of various formations: Spread, Wing T and Wishbone. They also have a good QB and a few outside threats.

District play starts next week.

Liberty was the second smallest 5A school in the least classification so depending on how things shake out, they could be back down to 4A.

what you are seeing with many urban public schools is the boomerang effect now 3 years later when many kids lost a whole year of football and football development. Making the gap between the haves and have nots even wider. suburban, rural, private and charter schools stayed the same.
