have always said NOLA having Saturday high school games absolutely blows. Zero atmosphere for me. Feels so wrong
you never want to be an afternoon game on Thursday or Friday… luckily I’ve only experienced that once in my life

Thursday night games are okay… usually we have them at Yenni or Memtsas

Friday night games are standard, but there’s too many other games going on, so the highlight shows might ignore you

The Saturday games are great IMO because they’re usually the biggest NOLA game of the week, usually because it’s a Catholic League game. What makes it great is every other team’s coaches come to check it out if they played on Friday…

Sorry but a good NOLA Catholic League game on Saturday night > anything else in the state

Spoken like someone from the Nola area

There is nothing great about high school football on Saturday. It sucks

The Nola football superiority complex is alive and well.

This is laughable vibe and feel at gormley is weak, stands too far from players. give me lutcher/st james, ea/st amant, zachary/scotlandville, tuerlings/sTm, barbe/sulphur(sulphur one of the best venues period), ruston/wm, oak grove/oc, the claiborne parish superbowl, and many others.

FIFY, Desty can run up as many points as they want Friday night.

I’ll be there…..and I’m full expecting a bloodbath worse than last season.

Not sure if it was done at the DHS/EA game, but I know the first two games for Destrehan had a running clock in the second half. I'm hoping for a bloodbath and a running clock in the second half.

I know it's Calpreps and it's formula-based so early on it gets wonky, but any state poll with anyone but Karr at #1 is simply wrong.

under the new rule any game that reaches a 42 point margin goes to running clock

I'd rather watch Tulane/Southern Miss on a Saturday afternoon at 6pm where I can drink beer and look at uptown milfs and coeds then watch some high school football game with terrible officiating.

At least that’s a little better than 35… some offenses are too good now; a team can get to 35 playing very little actual football… or do it in a game that really isnt a mismatch like those rules intend

yes and coaches can still ask for it earlier(I really wish the media wouldn't blast it that it was running clock though). 42 is a good number. I saw a 29 point comeback last year and it happened in about 8 minutes

I can think of one time for Fortier vs a Catholic League team on a sat. the officiating was pretty good.

The media is going to call it like they see it… you expect them not to notice?

Byrd leads Capt Shreve 17-12 with about 5 minutes left. Capt Shreve just missed a FG

ETA: 25-12 now. That should pretty much wrap up the NWLA version of the back yard brawl this year.

Shreve looking like LSU week 1. Multiple bad snaps over QB head killing momentum. Slow start. Down 17-0 at half. Blocked PAT, yet Shreve coach tries a FG down 17-12 instead of going for it on byrd 20 late. After having go ahead TD called back. Missed FG of course, which wouldn't have taken the lead any damn way. No way in hell byrd doesn't bleed the clock out if Shreve makes FG, tries to get ball back. Dumb. Fire Kelly!
