Franklinton at WM should be a great game. Franklinton is a quality opponent. I like the tougher schedule WM is playing this year.

This is going to be an interesting game. Franklinton has a good program & has good athletes.
I will be there.

one storyline which bears watching, even though you hate to see it, is St. Augustine being 0-3. According to calpreps, they're not favored in any of their remaining games, which includes the entire Catholic League schedule and a non district game at Thibodaux
might Leonard Fournette make history and become immortal while his alma mater goes down in flames? you'd think they're talented enough to win at least one however. Thibodaux and Holy Cross are their best bets, but the rest of the Catholic League is so good they might not
and the thing is, they might actually go down in flames. they're already playing up to the Catholic League with a mid 4A enrollment. it's probably no coincidence Brother Martin, Warren Easton, 35, Karr, and Landry Walker are more talented than ever. they're probably not sad to see St. Aug down
another thing, this doesn't necessarily make them "bad". i'll be happy if we lose to Landry Walker by one score, for example.

Hate to say it but I think Destrehan will beat Hahnville again this year. Tiger offense is disappointing, need to put the ball in Pooka Williams hands more.

Sadly, I agree. I didn't catch the Woodlawn game but that was closer than I would have liked to have seen it. We just wore Patterson down the next week. Last week, the read option wore down our defense even though they buckled down and only gave up 10 points. Problem was, the offense couldn't move the ball. And, when we did, we threw the game away....literally.

St. Aug isn't lacking for talent. I will shed no tears for them.

It sucked for Fournette not to win a State Title his senior year.. But Roth simply out coached Crutchfield... Allowing Rummel to win State...

As a Catholic League fan, it's fun, every now and then, to see St. Augustine have a down year. But long-term, it's not a good thing, and IMO, while the coaches may like the almost guaranteed wins, it doesn't to the entire league any good, to have a major player struggle.
I think the Crusaders may get their first loss of the year. The offenses will duke it out, and despite Curtis' tough defense, our offense will get theirs. The Crusader defense, however is suspect, and is prone to giving up big plays: long passes, or running backs who can gain the edge and turn upfield. The Crusaders don't tackle particularly well.
We held on to win last week, because the Karr players and coaches don't know the clock rules: the clock starts after a first down as soon as the ball is spotted for play. They missed that, they had :08-:10 to get a play off, but they just stood around and watched as the clock rolled once the umpire spotted the ball.
Of course, two of Jordan-Swilling's touchdowns came back because of offensive penalties, otherwise it may not have been that close.

I'm guessing that the layoffs at NOLA.com hit the prep sports writers hard. There has barely been any coverage this week.
