Glad they got it worked to have everything in the dome again.

Kinda sucks for the small classes to be stuck on Thursday though

Select/non-select is dumb.

the atmosphere for games in the dome are terrible
It's too big for the crowds that go
It helps with the weather

But the games at Yulman were so much better to go to
Even ULL, NW State and SLU are better venues to have it at

I think it depends on the schools that make it. If they're schools that bring fans I think the atmosphere is good still. We made it in 2011 and had tons of people from our town (really the whole parish) out. It was a good environment. I've been to games where it was dead as hell though so I get your point.

You cant underestimate the significance of just simply getting to be in the dome for the athletes though. That was an experience I'll never forget. I dont think it has the same feel for the athletes at places like Yulman, ull, etc.

Tell that to the kids who get to play on the field they've been watching their idols play on since they were born.

Probably the first time being in the Dome for a lot of them.

I was about to say the same thing. Those kids don't care about crowd numbers. They earned an opportunity to play in an iconic arena. Walking on the same turf as NFL HoF'ers

Exactly. Watching my boy pack his travel bag last night and the whole time talking about getting to be on that field. It's something special.

Mcneese, ULM, SU also. LSU wants no part of this.

Also this year they are not getting to practice in dome, which if you have played there is actually one of the cooler things.

Cold rainy december is better football weather than 100 plus heat indexes early in the year.

Rent on the dome is absurd as well.

you might know. what is the reasoning behind that? is the Dome's schedule that packed? The Saints were on the road the past two weeks and are on a bye this week

as a player I would love to play in the dome or even tiger stadium as well

I just think the atmosphere is more conducive for high school outside the dome

just like baseball this past season, the games at SLU in Hammond was so much better than the setup in Sulphur, it's more like a travel tournament when held at Sulphur

But it’s a logistical, scheduling and cost nightmare

I'd assume having the new schedule probably throws a wrench into it. When we went we did our walkthrough there on Thursday and I think the teams that played Saturday did theres Friday morning. Since there's games on Thursday and earlier on Friday it's probably not possible for everyone to do it anymore

meh the schedule is basically the same as it's been the last few years, and there's one fewer game in the Dome than when they had 9 games in a weekend.

maybe they're creating a situation that they'll say they can bring back the morning practices if we go back to 4 or 5 unsplit classsifications (and 4 or 5 games in the Dome)

can they not have the practices at Yulman or Gormley?
