shite, only good game apparently is Terrebonne/Natchitoches central

21-21 :57 left nchs at the terrebonne 6

3rd down :17 left

Overtime

On 3rd nchs tried to pass and qb ran for no gain, tried to run fg unit out, clock expired.

OT

Nchs gets ball first,
1st loss of 5
2nd incomplete
3rd dpi
Repeat 3rd??? Not sure why not a first
Incomplete
Kick field goal good

Nchs 24-21
1st down Terrebonne rush for 2
2nd down walk off rushing td

Final

Crusaders tried to give up a 14-0 4th quarter lead

Had 1 of the whackiest plays you'll see to end the game

4th & 17 for Liberty at the BM 37... QB chucked it downfield as he was getting hit... ball tipped around a few times and a Liberty player caught it around the 15 yard line

but the Liberty player who made the catch had been out of bounds and didn't reestablish back in-bounds (since the ball had been tipped... he could catch it legally) before making the catch... so it was ruled incomplete and a turnover on downs allowing BM to run out the clock

Liberty got screwed out of a BAD PI on the previous play. DB got trucked from behind & no flag was thrown. Should have been first & goal.

The refs absolutely handed bm this game. It was fricking horse shite.

Question for choupique.....

HC had the ball on the Rummel 24, they were called for holding, and Rummel had dead ball PF called against them after the play. Officials marked the ball ten yards back to the Rummel 14, then marched it 15 yards to the Rummel 29, and they said it was 1st and 1, not moving the chains. Should it have been first and 1 or first and 10 from the Rummel 29. I've never seen that done before. It was very confusing.

It was a Lafayette crew, which those guys were terrible, missing obvious face mask and holding calls... One of the worst officiated games ever.

Holy Cross tried to pull a fast one on Rummel, they were lined up to punt and Rummel wasn't set, so they tried to fake it running up the middle. Rummel stopped them, and scored on that next drive making it 7-0. Came back to bite them on the arse...

where was the hold? what was the result of the play. Lafayette crews are usually pretty solid. If the hold was beyond the line of scrimmage, no 1st down would be awarded due to the foul. then it would still be 1st down and then the 15 or half the distance would be enforced. Replay the down due to offensive foul being accepted.

FWIW - tonight state wide that had some calls you almost never see, I even had one that I had to really think about and discuss.

DB getting trucked would be on the offense and DPI is not an autofirst down in hs

It was a running play, the hold was at the line of scrimmage. No gain on the play.

It was second and six from the Rummel 24, they brought the ball back to the Rummel 14, then walked it up to the Rummel 29 from the dead ball PI call against Rummel. But, they didn’t move the chains and made it first and one from the Rummel 29. Shouldn’t it have been 1st and 10 from the PI call?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t a PF call an automatic 1st down, where they should’ve moved the chains, making it 1st and 10, not 1st and 1…

That was the correct enforcement. NO a PF is not an automatic first down under NFHS rules. Only Roughing the passer, holder, kicker or snapper are automatic first downs.

So why did they make it First and 1, since it was on second down why was it not second and 1?
