There’s talks that in January if they vote to keep the playoffs like they are right now that districts will be made up off of divisions that you are in. The new district proposal has teams in the same district but different divisions for playoffs.

Second time in as many cycles where the LHSAA allowed schools to manipulate districts to avoid competition. Not a great precedent.
well in the post integration era they let some manipulate districts over racism. and districts have been manipulated from day one.

So teams right now would be well advised to hold off on scheduling football games for the next two year cycle?

Idk if it’s a done deal but there’s been talks that Principals/AD want to move in that direction if indeed this playoff format stays

So we will have just condensed football classes down from 5 to 4. At that point, are they going to stop letting schools elect to play up again?

Why do we still even have districts? They are pointless. I feel like they are there to help with the laziness of coaches in scheduling.

I think there would still be districts but it would be based off of what division you would be in which could lead to bigger districts and less scheduling hassles

I’m guessing select and nonselect are combined in their districts?

When would that take effect?

Would they tear up the about to be approved district plan and try again in the spring?

By the way I fully support this.

I would think it would take place at the start of the next fall sports season but I’m like you why go through all the new redistricting but It is the LHSAA nothing would surprise me
