No, SL Administration was able to obtain the IP information directly from Hudle, after being told by BJ Guzzardo first they could not obtain this info and then being told by him that they would have to pay to obtain the information and lastly, being told by him that SL would incur all defense costs from DHS after it was proven that the SL charges were incorrect if SL pursued this via the legal system. I am telling you guys he did everything in his power to sweep this under the rug.
Then it becomes a civil manner to recoup their costs.

I am not in law enforcement, but they were charged with Offenses against Intellectual Property (R.S. 14:73.2). I would have to guess this is the same as reading emails that were sent to you in error and not notifying the sender you received the email in error when there is a notice at the bottom of the email?
Again, if the nephew sharing the credentials part is true, then the above is not applicable here. The nephew made the conscious decision to share his credentials. If anything, he is the one that should be facing criminal charges.
A more appropriate comparison would be an authorized person receiving that email, and then showing it to a friend that was not authorized to see it. Are you really arguing the friend is the criminal in this instance?

I understand your points and really have no argument against those. I have no knowledge, other than what I have read, as to how the account information was obtained by the DHS staff members.
If the account information was shared by a student as has been shared in other posts, my assumption this individual is a minor. The individuals charged are adults. You would have to assume even if the student offered the information, the adults should not have accepted this information.
The reviewing and/or sharing of information not meant directly for these individuals is fraudulent and thus, the LPSO has decided to press charges against these individuals.
Personally, I think the arrests and charges are not warranted. But, it is quite difficult to release these individuals from any wrongdoing in my mind. To make the assumption that a student is at fault for this issue is hard to comprehend.

(2) Disclosure, use, copying, taking, or accessing, without consent, of intellectual property.
Destrehan coaches accessed and used the South Lafourche HUDL account without SOUTH LAFOURCHE'S consent. Doesn't matter that the kid gave them consent it's not his consent to give.
In physical terms this is no different than the kid (who quit his job) having a spare key to his old company's office/filing cabinet and an outside competitor convinces that kid to give him that key to let him access confidential files. It's illegal in real life and it's illegal online.
You can say but this is just a football game it's not a big deal. Well it could have cost SL alot of money. If they miss out on the playoffs because of a cheated win that's 10's of thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

I was on a coaching staff at a very prominent football program in BR...not too hard to figure out...that got it's hands on a playbook/hand signals from a former St. James asst coach. In fact I still have it along with the massive scouting report we have for every team that season. Even though this happend about 12 yrs ago the main coaches on this staff are still there today.
We already lost to St. James during the regular season and played them again in the playoffs. If not for a trick play late in the game and a missed FG by our kicker we would have won.
Diff asst. coaches i talked to were not aware of this until later on but this happens a lot more than what people realize at other schools. So many teams try and get an edge any way they can.

If Coach Robicheaux was honorable, he would take his lead from I've cheated my profession

Still shocked an alum did this to his old school.
Ive personally known Fournier since grade school. Shocking.
It also goes to show you how serious hacking/cybercrimes are becoming. Let this be a lesson to everyone.
Todays game against Thibodauxville will be on tv and will have plenty more buzz.
Cant wait

What I really don't get is how the Desty fans are all on twitter and Facebook still denying any cheating took place. They are calling the SL and Hahnville fans haters who are just jealous. They still say the facts will show they didn't cheat.

Think that DHS IP address is like an electronic DNA, hard to defend it.
If the St. Charles School Board wants to put an end to this issue, it should request the two remaining IP addresses and conduct their own investigation
Their 3 basic questions should be
Who knew?
When they knew?
Why they did nothing to stop it?

Actually, a more appropriate comparison would be if I had some insider trading info from a previous job, shared it with you, and you either bought or sold some stock based on my info. I am guilty for sharing it, but you are also guilty for acting on it

Exactly, but I'd bet it doesn't happen.

That doesn't absolve the adults from their wrongdoing you idiot

the next two weeks vs SL. DHS was wrong but I've witnessed enough crooked officiating down the bayou in my 53 years to have no love for the Tarpons.

Head coach not penalized
Is this some type of fricking joke?
Head coach was innocent in this? The assistants installed the defense and taught the calls without the head coaches knowledge? Shameful.
actually.. one committee at LHSAA is coming unglued over this....

Choupiquesushi do you think he should do like Nick Nolte in my link above?

I know him and don't think badly of the guy... but I think he should coach the kids through the season and resign.
I think resigning right now slights the kids.
From coaches I talked to last night and one early this am(that I talk to EVERY thursday am).... I think the former SL coach is going to have a very very hard time finding a job in coaching.
Honestly - the saddest part is the Destrehan parents that are trying to defend what was done. It is not defendable.
as for coach giving play book and signals, to a prominent BR school - play books and signals are one thing.... access to practice film exposes weaknesses that may slip by in game film....
I don't think the LHSAA is done with this yet, but then again, the LHSAA has enough problems right now, the last thing they needed was this.
Years ago... a coach that was a GREAT coach and a GREAT GUY.. waited patiently for years to take the reigns at a school... in his 2nd year they found out a seldom used sub was ineligible in 2 games..
It caused and incredible upheaval and put what was probably the best team in state out of playoffs.. and put one in that went on to win state(3 way tie for first no wildcards)
that coach resigned the day after it went down and never coached again.
coaching is more that wins and losses.. .it is about leading and molding young men and women... and teaching them life lessons...
I don't know if i have ever been more disappointed in the LHSAA save for the crap that wrongfully costs me 6 weeks of football and the rest of the school year.
and.. oh. yeah.. yes he should....

Or the pass that was tipped by one SL receiver into Bozigard's hands for the winning TD?
How about roping off half of the visitors side stands for the Home fans, then cutting the wires for the Coaches Headsets? Broken windows on buses? Did you see any of this?
I did. No sympathy for the trash down the bayou.
