Did you also see the three times SL fumbled in the State Championship Game on their winning drive that was recovered by Bonnabel players each time, only to be called Dowwwn, with the thickest Cajun accent ever?
Or the pass that was tipped by one SL receiver into Bozigard's hands for the winning TD?
How about roping off half of the visitors side stands for the Home fans, then cutting the wires for the Coaches Headsets? Broken windows on buses? Did you see any of this?
I did. No sympathy for the trash down the bayou.
hmm... referees for that game with bonnabel were not from houma/thib association.. they were from lafayette... big difference...
one of the fumbles the whistle blew...
broken windows on buses happened everywhere in 70s...and ask anyone from schools outside nola about their experiences going to Nola in the 70s....
hmmmm one receiver couldn't tip a ball?
but fourcade crossed the line....
not defending...any of that behavior by the way.. but... I saw east st johns buses get pummeled on phlox street when they were still called godchaux

To the poster that said trash down the bayou
I'm pretty damn sure these actions happen oh EVERYWHERE. Hell, I can remember attending a playoff game between SL and West Jeff in the late 90's. SL was the underdog and West Jeff was one of the top teams in the state. What happened? SL beat them and players/fans drew knives after the game. I remember having to haul arse out of there and players keeping their heads down on the bus in case of gun shots.

Yes, it happens everywhere.
I used to HATE playing games out at Northeast, which we did 3 times in 4 years, because the crowd at the game was fairly intimidating and it didn't help that Doug Williams' brother reffed a few of those games.
We were going to get stomped anyway, but having the referee calling the game be the brother of the guy the field is named after, and the former coach of the team, means a lot more home cooking than normal.

Seems like some of them may have gone on to become coaches at Destrehan......

No these guys were too young. Destrehan will roll the rest of the year and this will be forgotten. Even though i agree with stiffer penalties.

As an SL alum, what I really want out of the whole ordeal is Destrehan again, in the playoffs. I want our kids to have a shot at them. I believe Skins will have a physical game plan for them. Of course, we just need to focus on Thibodaux tonight.

Exactly, people like to hate on the bayou. This stuff goes on everywhere.

No it won't be forgotten by anyone, you can bet on that. Hell the OC lives on my street, my costume is an orange Jumpsuit with Destrehan Football Coach on it, handcuffs and a laptop.

Be careful what you wish for, it may be much worse next time....especially if it's at Desty! That team is really good, they had no need to cheat.

I'm definitely not taking anything away from their talent. They're damn good; we all know that. I think it'd be a perfect storm for the media. What more would you want from a high school playoff game? Rematch from all this scandal, two district teams, cold weather, most likely it would be played at Destrehan, from SL perspective you show you would've upset them straight up. From Destrehan's perspective you show your perseverance through it and show no distraction is too big. Oh and the jambalaya they serve at Destrehan haha

Who picks the refs for payoff games? Random question I know but I'm sure the calls will be pretty one sided if a rematch is in South Lafouche and they get to pick

payoff games
Pretty sure they are assigned by the state and would come from other districts that neither school is in.

Probably not, but I watched the replay of the game last night and despite Destrehan knowing SL's cadences, and new plays SL was taking it to them on both the offensive and defensive line in the first half. Who's to say some of the new plays they put in wouldn't have worked if Desty didn't know it was coming? Destrehan looks big and scarey but their more finesse than physical. It wasn't until the second half when Isom would just tuck the ball and run that they pulled away. Their Oline couldn't protect him.
