Holy Cross and Shaw at 4A. There has been a lot of talk of them playing at their class and not up.

North Vermilion has boomed. Largest HS in Vermilion Parish
It'll be 5A for the next classification.

Abbeville High with about the same as Kaplan and Erath

I'm pretty sure Maurice is the only town in the parish that is increasing in population.

I wouldn't even turn left on Highway 22 after school; I opted to take the back way via Ridgedell/Esterbrook instead.

I don’t know the area well but curious why John Curtis enrollment has never exploded to 5A level? With all of the winning over the years, you would think the school would be busting at the seams. Did they purposefully hold down enrollment due to space or something?

Fair or unfair, it does not have the reputation as a good school, and their test scores are far below other private schools. Most parents would rather their kids go to a school that sets them up for life over a school that wins at sports

What/where are the numbers that cut off one classification from another?

Without a good football team, Curtis would be Ecole Classique or Ridgewood

Looks like my alma mater stayed just under the cutoff for 3A again.

They have about 388 in 2A while Doyle has 400 and is in 3A.

Bunkie up to 3a next year. Will be nice to get out of the toughest 2a district in the state and into an easier 3a distinct but come playoffs it will be brutal.

JC isn’t exactly known for its academic prowess.

Just because you are a school founded upon football in the holy name of a Jesus doesn’t mean you will attract students.

Look at Evangel right now….the school is hanging on by a thread.

“Edna Karr will move up to Class 5A for the next two years according to classification figures released Wednesday by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.

Ed Daniels reports that Karr is interested in playing in a district with the Catholic League schools, according to Cougars head football coach Brice Brown.”

Archbishop Shaw, which will leave the Catholic League and play in Class 4A.

“In conversation with both Fr. Steve Ryan and the athletic director, Thomas Alef, we made the difficult decision to play to our true enrollment in the 4A classification,” Shaw associate head of school Nicholas Marchese told Crescent City Sports Wednesday afternoon. “We have a lot of great things happening at Shaw right now and we think this is what is best for our school community for the next two years.

Wonder if Prairieville will cause a huge redistributing.

They should put the 4 AP schools with ESJ.
Put all the EBR teams in one district.
Then put Livingston with Ponchy and Hammond.

15 teams. 3 5-team districts.

There is a proposal to put AP and Livingston in one district:

St. Amant
Dutchtown
EA
Live Oak
Walker
Denham Springs

and create a 5A EBR District:

Zachary
Central
Scotlandville
Catholic
Woodlawn
Liberty

I need predictions on the excuse the Catholic League members use as a reason to keep Karr out of their league
