It has given more teams a chance but I feel it has neutered the trade deadline

The trade deadline is going to be wild this season because free agency is going to be awful once the season is finished

No. If we’re forced to have three divisions, then we should’ve stuck with one wild card, not three.

I’d prefer to go back to the days of two divisions and the winners compete in an LCS.

This. 162 games is indeed enough to determine who the best team in a division is.

It has neutered the playoffs more than anything. The 3 game series are completely ridiculous

I don't like threads that start with demonstrative sentences, so you can frick off. We ain't talking about shite, understood? Good.

Have a pleasant evening.

162 games and then a division champ plays a 3 game series, sometimes against a team from their own division… it’s a joke

My team's small market owner sucks, and that's never going to change. No one in MLB is removing him, I'm stuck with him forever. So it's tough for me to complain about this.

It's nice to have a little hope that your shoestring budget team can get hot in the postseason with 2-3 young starters, if they can sneak into the WC.

Yep, the whole point of the excessively long baseball season is to eliminate the need for lengthy playoffs. I’d rather they take the two league winners and go straight to the World Series (like they used to do) than the system they have now.

Unfortunately with an expanded league soon likely also comes an expanded postseason. The absolute max they should have is 8 teams total, 4 from each league, in my opinion. Likely we will have 16 in the not too distant future and the first round is going to feel like the NBA playoffs

I didn't like the second wild card, but the third is just stupid. We don't need the crappy 6th place team in a league getting in, and we certainly shouldn't be punishing a division winner by making them play a three game wild card series. "Oh, but they get to be the home team!"... Who cares. Why should the third place division winner have the same fate as the third wild card?

I hate the constant tinkering of the Manfred era.

Aside from the ultra small sample size nonsense of a 3 game series, it just doesn’t feel like a baseball playoff series or like it has any consequence when it’s over in two days and one team never plays a home game. It neuters the entire atmosphere and vibe of postseason baseball.

Maybe even a play-in tourney! Make it 20!

As much as I love the Astros and Saints, I just find myself choosing other entertainment until the playoffs. There's just nothing on the line. Every team with a pulse makes the postseason.

The NBA playoffs were pretty entertaining to me and a regular season game is like watching paint dry. It's just what you get with these playoff structures.

Should’ve kept it at 2 wild cards. Make it a best of 3 (or a format where the 2nd wild card has to beat the first twice but the first only needs to win once)

Then make division series best of 7

Get more playoff games without the watering down of playoffs
