Alex Ferguson often invites Rio Ferdinand into his lap so he can cradle him like a babe and tickle his tummy while this 90s classic plays

Alex Ferguson, Steve Bruce, and Steve Hughes still meet every Monday afternoon for tea and listen to this song and cry. LINK
Phil Brown starts training out everyday by making Jimmy Bullard lead the team in a voice box rendition of this song, circa March 31st, 2005.
LINK
He makes them wear the corresponding electric socket masks and they have glitter in their hands they throw up in their air lebron style when the crash hits.

Please defend Lucas and his play this year because I and every Liverpool fan I know think that he is shite.

going into this year I thought he was absolutely terrible and the first two or three matches this year I hadn't changed my opinion. But since then, he's gotten better and better.
Is he world class? No way. But I think he might be at some point. He's made huge strides this year. He's now playing box to box and playing much smarter while still being aggressive.
He still lacks the ability to make that intuitive searching pass, but he's starting to at least take more chances. He used to only pass back and sideways. That's it. Now he's starting to venture forward.
Defensively he's really improved as well. Whereas he used to be a liability with his shite challenges and over aggressiveness (Gerrard had same problem), he's now he's breaking up attacks and playing instinctively. Against Villa I thought he was fantastic and that was his first chance to feature without Mascherano as a safety blanket.
Trust me, there are times I wish we had someone else there but that's mainly when I wish we had Alonso still. But I've seen so much improvement from Lucas in the last two years, to only be really encouraged. He's not a gamechanger yet, but he's certainly not the liability he used to be. That's all you can ask from in a young player in an extremely difficult position, is to see growth and improvement.
Him and Mascherano absolutely bossed around the ManU game and I really think that gave Lucas tons of confidence. Since then, he really hasn't been the same.

he just reminds me of Henry in so many ways, but then he reverts to the lazy disinterested Babel and I hate him all over again.
WHOAH CHIEF
Steer clear of comparing him to a living legend and future NY Red Bulls star. This is almost as bad as my Bendtner infatuation...even if he IS the best striker in the world right now.

was Henry good when he first came to the PL?
Either way, my point is, is that Babel's skill set is extremely similar. They're similar in size, pace, looks, gait, a lot of stuff. Not saying he is Henry, just that like many others he has the talent to do similar things. Sure as shite doesn't mean he will,or even get close.

re: Lucas
Well said, but I still say he is not the player that the Reds need in that position. As a holding midfielder he is fine and getting better. I have never disputed that fact. In the Salford match, he and Masch complimented each other very well and shut down the Scum attack. However, in the role that he NEEDS to play for Liverpool, he is a liability. Unfortunately, the Reds need creativity in the deep midfield and he doesn't provide that. As one of my Liverpool fans described him, "He's like a crab. Everything is backwards and side-to-side."

i definitely agree with you on that to a point.
For me, he's a great guy to have in the team against physical, aggressive teams. Teams where we need two holding mids (which I hate) and he can pair with Masch.
But I really think the reason Aquilani is so crucial to our chances going forward is because he needs to put Lucas on the bench. Masch is still definitely better than Lucas so if he's in as the holding mid, while Aqui is playing in more of an attacking role, I think that's where we'd have more success.
I defnitely agree that we desperately need more creativity and so far I've liked most of what I've seen from Aqui. He's given away a ton of possession, but he also searches for aggressive killer passes (like Alonso).
Most of all I just wish we still had Danny Murphy. Watching Fulham games is annoying for me because he's really been bossing around their midfield and doing everything that we currently need. Plus him and Gerrard are BFF and maybe he could light a fire under his arse.

no kidding.
I was watching today and from the 80' minute on I knew Reading would equalize. The result was absolutely fair and it's disgusting. They had at least 4 dead on chances at goal so while we were lucky to only concede two, we only had one great opportunity at goal (not our actual goal).
In 210 mins against a bottom of the table championship side, we scored one goal (one goal? That's all we got, was one god damn goal?).
We were outplayed thoroughly. I know it can, but for the time being it doesn't get more miserable.

Maybe not, but Babel is no where near the starting 11 for the Dutch. Henry was the best player in the world for a two year period. Comparing Babel to Henry is like comparing Chili's to Commander's Palace.

Ok first, Bendnter is dreadful. I hate watching him do anything, like breathe, much less kick a ball around the pitch.
Next, Babel is uber-talented, and hopefully Birmingham pick him up so he can play under a real gaffer in time to get into the Dutch side. I fancy me a little be of the Dutch.
Last, Liverpool sucks.
That's my contribution.

To compare him to Henry is frickING ABSURD!! I don't care what the scale is used to compare the two, but, there is no way to compare the two. Henry is one of the greatest goal scorers ever in the EPL, Babel is in no way comparable.
