To compare him to Henry is frickING ABSURD!! I don't care what the scale is used to compare the two, but, there is no way to compare the two. Henry is one of the greatest goal scorers ever in the EPL, Babel is in no way comparable.
as I said earlier in terms of size, pace, body, looks, they're comparable. That's it. He can do things that make you think he has an extremely bright future but it's about as rare as haley's comet.

Next, Babel is uber-talented, and hopefully Birmingham pick him up so he can play under a real gaffer in time to get into the Dutch side. I fancy me a little be of the Dutch.
nope. They offered nine million for him and Rafa said no thanks. He said for depth, whatever the hell that means.
Now we have Maxi, Kuyt, Babel, Aurelio (shouldn't be), Benayoun, Pacheco, Riera on the wings. The one place we basically do have depth. Makes no sense.
I did find out today though, that Marouane Chamakh will most likely be ours in the summer. Which is fantastic news.

I heard Chamekh was coming now. That would certainly help.
Kuyt needs to slide back up top. The fact that he didn't sell Babel for 9 million shocks me. That's just bad business, especially for a club who need every pound that can get

it's very complicated right now and probably won't get done in time for the Jan window. Small chance at least.
Who knows what to do with Kuyt. He's been so bad in stretches this season but he never ever is placed on the bench. I'm excited to see Maxi, but who knows when the hell he'll play.

okay, i think im now ready to concede that Liverpool will not finish in the top 4, unless Maxi Rodriguez and Chamakh (if he transfers) turn out to be fugging amazing.

Maxi is very good, but the fact that at the end, he couldn't get in at Athletico makes me wonder. He's still very very good though.
Chamakh, well, he's Moroccan. He's fiesty as all hell, but he's got a lot of skill and would be the IDEAL counter to Torres. I think he and Torres together would be the best partnership in the EPL.

I don't see it.

Liverpool have not altered their view that Rafael Benítez is the man to revive their fortunes despite yesterday's dismal FA Cup defeat to Reading, but will review his position at the end of the season. The manager's task of delivering the top-four finish that would save his job was made more difficult when Steven Gerrard, Yossi Benayoun and Fernando Torres all returned to the treatment table, the latter with a withering attack on the club's owners.
News that should surprise no one

Maybe at the end of this storm will be a golden sky. It is a time when all liverpool supporters should embrace this club's anthem and support it, no matter the coach.

He had the goal of the World Cup in 2008.

Absolute horseshite. He's not THAT good. There was a clip of him on youtube (that Bordeaux took down) of him shanking every and all opportunities. I didn't want him at Arsenal, and I am laughing at Liverpool getting him. A terrible move if they actually pay a transfer fee to him.

They won't be paying a fee, he's out of contract in summer, which means he's free to talk to interested parties now. That's why Arsenal refused to meet Bordeaux's price. No way a guy with his scoring ratio is worth £15m a year before his contract expires, when Bent goes for £9m up front (rising to a possible £16m) with a superior goalscoring record in a superior league.

No, Bordeaux acted dishonestly. They raised the asking price after they already agreed to sell him for £7m because Arsenal sold Adebayor for £25m.
I'm glad we don't have him. He's a shitty version of Roque Santa Cruz.
