re: Let’s Discuss a 1-loss Pac Oregon/Utah vs 1 loss Big 12 Oklahoma

And just to be clear I'm not saying its right. I'm just jaded because I've seen the song and dance before. I'm just saying you better hope either Baylor sinks the rest of the season and the Big 12 CG is a dud and maybe then Oregon/Utah's Pac 12 championship will mean more, or OU loses again. Because 1 loss champion Oklahoma is in over Pac 12 champion Oregon/Utah especially if Baylor's only 2 losses are to OU.

Oregon rates well in high profile games.
Posted on 11/17/19 at 4:35 am to bisonduck
I've already said before that Oregon isnt some ghost when it comes to ratings, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying OU is better.

Not their third year in a row with a shitty defense. Do you really want to see OU?
Oregon’s brand is nationwide. Also, novelty will be on our side rating wise. Oregon’s defense will at least keep them in the games too.

With Jalen Hurts the Bama transfer on their side the nation will want to see them even more than usual probably. And I just have a feeling that Auburn loss is gonna haunt them especially if Bama wins the Iron Bowl. They'll say "Oh all these other teams beat Auburn. Oregon would be middle of the pack in the SEC".
Ohio State was able to avoid that scrutiny when they lost to 6-6 Virginia Tech and were able to leapfrog TCU and Baylor the final week despite both teams winning their games that fateful year. Because Ohio State is a blueblood of CFB. And so is Oklahoma. And unfortunately, Oregon is not. And that's how the game works my friend.

SEC country is going to tune in regardless if it’s Oregon or OU. Californians won’t. SEC country is a saturated market.

The Big 12 market might not tune in if OU doesnt get in either. Oklahoma is a better sell in the CFB landscape, and that's all there is to it.
I'm done arguing. We'll see how it shakes out. I'm just saying, better hope Baylor wins the rematch because Oregon will get in over Baylor but I dont think they do over Oklahoma.

What are they going to do in Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma in the winter, bro?
Posted on 11/17/19 at 5:33 am to bisonduck
Meth? Just guessing cuz I dont live there.
On a serious note I would venture to guess whatever they do during the months when CFB isnt going on. As in going on with their daily lives?

I think you need to include discussion of 12-1 Baylor. It’s not like OU blew them out
Posted on 11/17/19 at 7:37 am to Mkay 84
Oregon plays New Mexico State instead of Auburn and there is no discussion. Dumb

You guys are delusional if you think Pac 12 gets in over a 12-1 Ou
OU still has a ranked Okie St team on the road and top 15 Baylor in the Big 12 Championship game
That’s a much better win than anything in the Pac 12
It won’t be close IMO. OU has the brand, much better resume and would be a 7-10 point favorite against Oregon.

Yep. They’ll both end up with the same record as Auburn.

I'd be fine with 12-1 Oregon over 12-1 OU. I'd absolutely lose my shite if they put 12-1 Utah over OU.
But then again, once you lose you can't bitch at the final outcome.
It's funny how before the conference games started it was determined that the PAC 12 is trash, and now two teams emerge by beating conf foes and now it's all good

Pac12 champ
I’d probably go with OU if they had played better throughout the year, but they haven’t, especially recently.
Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems pretty clear to me at this point that the Pac12 champ will get the nod over OU.

I'd like to see Oregon because I want new teams. This is not a great OU team, so let's give someone else a shot.

Agreed, although I think Utah will beat Oregon.
Where is Pac12 CG played this year? Is it always same place?

The Pac 12 Champion will be the only one with a win over a Top 10 opponent and would get in.
Sugar Bowl would then match-up Jalen Hurts vs Alabama. Assuming the Tide wins the Iron Bowl.
