He's not that old. He's only 64. Nick Saban is 66 and just signed an extension.
Look at Bill Snyder and Frank Solich. Hell Herm Edwards is just starting a long rebuilding project at ASU and he's 63.
But he never came across as a guy who had to keep coaching otherwise they'd die like Bear Bryant, Bobby Bowden and Paterno.
All those had plenty of money in their prime for their time.
But they had to be around the college campus - youth.

He’d get beaten up on by Harbaugh like he got beaten up by Saban. I’m pretty sure they’re not ready to go back to Miles’s archaic style offense.
What? Saban is Saban. Harbaugh can't carry Saban's bags. Les would beat the shite out of Harbaugh and he'd keep Ohio State at the top of the Big 10. If not for the greatest football coach of this era Les would be have won 1-2 more national championships. Take media hype away and Les would along with James Franklin be the two best coaches in that conference. And, for the record I put Mark D'Antonio ahead of Harbaugh.

Yeah, it's a certainty he'd have at leary one more, and there are a couple years in there where it would have been feasible. Regardless, there aren't many two time NC winning coaches.

Les would take the McNeese State job if it was offered to him.
Some people don’t understand the numbers.
Miles won’t be taking any coaching job until the LSU checks cease.

As someone that has no attachment to any of the schools you are talking about, 100% agree with you!!!

...and Les Miles cannot sniff a job with his track record...
...is absolutely mind-boggling.
Age is a big factor. What big time program that has a HC opening is going to want to hire a guy already in his mid-60's that could very well be ready to retire before his 1st recruiting class graduates? Everyone wants the younger, up and coming head coaches that could potentially stick around for 15-20 years.

well MSU only pays their head coach like $100k/year so LSU would still be writing huge checks even if he took the job

Les doesn’t want to coach. How is it so hard for some of y’all to understand and accept this.
He simply has to continue interviewing to keep getting his buyout.

Why can't you people get through your damn skulls that Miles was a terrible head coach

Lots of dummies out there, friend.
Miles was a joke. A fricking wino off the streets could have won the vast majority of games that Lucky Less did.

Good post
Its funny looking back on the SEC and all the coaches who have been fired or overtaken since Sabans arrival. Saban's dominance and what he has done at Alabama has really had programs scrambling for ways to keep up and its impacted the conference a lot
Some of the Coaches who have been fired:
Tuberville
Nutt
Fulmer
Meyers
Richt
Miles

His offense was ugly old style football but his recipe of controlling the ball with a dominant defense and good special teams won a shite load of games. No it wasn't pretty, but you don't win that many games and send that much talent to the NFL and be that horrible of a coach. I agree towards the end it seemed like some of the fire was gone but I think some of this is blown out of proportion
If Nick Saban didn't happen Les probably has probably at least two more national titles
Its crazy how different the perspectives of Les Miles are from the LSU fan base and the fan bases of everyone else nationally

The majority of these people hated Miles from day 1. And they were just waiting for the day to say 'See? I told you he sucked."
I'm honest enough to say that if O somehow won a NC then went 9-4 for 7 straight years afterwards, I'd be the same way.
