wtf? They scored 45 vs BC and 21 vs okklahoma

the BC outburst was attributed to the influence of the new OC, who's a big RPO guy (he literally wrote a book on it) and believes in spreading the field more than what they did in the earlier games.

I think the last couple TDs vs OU were in garbage time.

Make no mistake. This isn’t Les evolving. It’s him being uncomfortable straying from his core offensive philosophy.

Did you see who he promoted?

Don't even try dude, they are ate up with the irrational when it comes to ole Les.

Whole lotta people that don’t know what they’re talking about in this thread

KU fans have wanted this move to happen for a couple of weeks. I’m surprised but excited that they pulled the trigger so soon. Les #2 wasn’t the answer, he was the only guy we could get after Lindsey bolted for Troy.

For those saying Miles fired him because he wanted to open things up more...this is the exact opposite move. Dearmon is an RPO and offensive guru, has set offensive records at the DIII level, and was the reason we did to BC what we did. Most people wanted Dearmon to be the OC from the get go.

Les needs to go. Football has passed him by. He refuses to adapt to the new landscape of college football.

Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense now!

Hope it all works out, sounds like they are making the right moves then.

So those who believe Les will actually change are the rational ones?

21 vs okklahoma
Let's be real, 21 points in a Big 12 game is like being shut out in an SEC game.

Run twice and pass on third... how hard could that be?

Those who look at this specific situation and then make a judgement are the rational ones. Look the guy up. He wrote a book on the RPO

Identifying & Attacking Coverages with the RPO by Brent Dearmon

Dearmon is an RPO gut who was considered the person responsible for KU winning the BC game. He was also the guy that KU fans were clamoring to be elevated to OC.

In my mind, this the equivalent of having Joe Brady working as the QB coach with Gary Crowton as the OC then firing Crowton and moving Brady to OC.

- Crowton
+ Cameron

Crowton was a really creative guy before he came to LSU

since you're here, give some insight on the Kahlil Herbert thing. seems like he tried to pull a D'Eriq King redshirt his senior year and come back, and Les told him to kick rocks. I thought he and Pooka were a nice tandem.
