Lebron's had one decent coach thus far, Spoelstra, and won two championships with him.

The rest are bums. None did anything before Lebron or have done anything since Lebron.

But the Clippers coach reportedly wants to leave your team because it's not even the most desirable franchise in that arena. Well, at least in your championship winning coach's mind. That's not how you've been positioning the two teams to this board for months now. ?

Doc won a title with the best roster in the NBA and made another finals when he had the best roster in the East. Not exactly a measure of a coaching acumen there. He has been impressive in not only reeking out an above 500 record with this Clippers team but making the playoffs with no true number one option on the roster though. Then again, who the hell wants to deal with LeBron’s bullshite? His best basketball days are done and he’s a locker room destroyer.

If he wants to move on to someone else go to the Suns. They have tons of young talent but no one to mold them.

The future of basketball LeBron is that he has no future. His future is all used up.

I am dumbfounded that Doc Rivers would even consider this. There’s so little reward compared to so much risk...

ETA: I’m not even talking about the other half which is leaving the Clippers. It seems especially dumb with the Clippers trending upwards so much

Doc Rivers

He will become the NBA's super retread. By the time he retires, he will coach 6-7 teams. Bron bron is going to fire his arse, the first time he questions his authority.

He might think Lebron is like, REALLY freakin good at basketball.

Doc + Lebron + Lakers might get free agents to look that direction again.

I don't think he'll leave the Clippers. But if he did and things broke their way, the Lakers would look real nice, no?

Upwards to what?

What's the Clippers' ceiling? Tough out in the playoffs?

I like Walton more than most, but Doc has won an NBA championship and performed at a level Walton's never shown he can.

If this is truly your choice, Doc is the easy choice, and again, I like Walton. His resume just pales compared to Doc.

If this is LeBron's doing, he's doing a solid job. There's no way that wouldn't be an upgrade. I think Walton will be good in the long term, but Doc is easily above him until Walton develops.

exact same sentiment here... Walton is gonna be a good coach, but Doc has skins on the wall right now.... and he's easily better than Lue, who is who I was under the assumption Lebron was gonna try to go get...

will be an interesting to see if Lebron takes a back seat and actually lets Doc coach, or if he's still gonna do his own thing regardless...

either way, his antics this year have really knocked him down a peg or two for me, in terms of being his fan... just too much bullshite... you chose to go play with them, then you pout or complain or try to manipulate shite when they aren't good... stupid... he's still top 2 all time, IMO, but just in terms of being able to defend him to his critics, yeah, it's just harder to do that now...

Compared to the Lakers ceiling of 11th place in the West?

Not that this is a good thing, but that's clearly their floor.

I didn’t say there was no possibility of reward. I just said that there’s little to be had compared to the risk. At best, he wins a title with Lebron and he gets minimal credit like every other Lebron coach before him. If the Lakers were actually contending next year, the narrative is not going to be “Doc saved the day.”, it will be “the Lakers and more importantly, Lebron, got their shite together. Doc is third in line at the very best in getting credit.

The risk though is that this isn’t an aberration from the Lakers and Lebron’s decline is going to be one hell of a ride for everyone involved.

Their floor is 14th place in the West.

They should be thanking God that Robert Sarver hasn't sold the Suns.
