Lebron may have found his next coach: "Doc Rivers, Lakers Have Mutual Interest"

"According to a confidant, he almost always has wanted to leash the Lakers," wrote Vecsey. "In conversations over the years, Doc frequently expressed an ardent ambition to coach either them, or the Knicks before retiring, if for no other motivation than their worldwide brands."
Rivers is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Clippers through the 20-21 season after signing an extension in May of 2018.

I like Walton more than most, but Doc has won an NBA championship and performed at a level Walton's never shown he can.
If this is truly your choice, Doc is the easy choice, and again, I like Walton. His resume just pales compared to Doc.
If this is LeBron's doing, he's doing a solid job. There's no way that wouldn't be an upgrade. I think Walton will be good in the long term, but Doc is easily above him until Walton develops.

It became cool to hate on Doc the past few years, but he's been awesome this year. He's managed to keep the Clippers in the playoffs while simultaneously preparing to rebuild.

Without reading the thread, there will be posters that dont care about lebron and are tired of hearing about him, and dont care about the lakers and are tired of hearing about them too, that will care alot about this hire for some reaons because Doc is black

Doc Rivers isn't going to jump ship to coach the Lakers with LeBron. Anyone who even thinks this is a remote possibility is a total moron. Rivers isn't going to risk his reputation coaching an uncoachable idiot like LeBron and Clippers certainly aren't going to let Rivers go across the street.

Ballmer trading Doc to the Lakers would be perfect IMHO.

I bet doc has wanted out of Clips since West cane in and relieved him if GM duties. Doc was terrible, but he probably thought he was good. West probably also thinks he can get a better coach and Kawahi and KD
