He don't know that he don't know. Mainly because the folks who cover him keep treating him like he does know.

You should learn how statistics work. There's this thing called per capita.
White people make up 67% of the population in the US
Black people make up 13%.
Welfare rates:
White people make up 40% of the people on welfare (~27% lower than they should)
Black people make up 25% of the people on welfare (~12 higher than they should)

James noted the central role that NBA and NFL players have held in growing their respective sports and suggested that NFL owners prioritize short-term results over the long-term success of individual players.
“The players are who make the ship go,” he said. “We make it go. Every Sunday, without Todd Gurley and without Odell Beckham Jr., without those players, those guys, there is no football. And it’s the same in the NBA. ... The difference between the NBA and the NFL: the NBA [cares about] what we believe [a player] can be, the potential. In the NFL, it’s what can you do for me this Sunday or this Monday or this Thursday. And if you ain’t it, we moving on.”
this is undeniably true

The employer having the ability to fire an employee on a whim is true just about everywhere. What specifically do you think is enlightening?

You can tell the retards in any conversation, when they use excuse driven replies, like this.

Yeah and Amazon employees make Amazon work.
Wal Mart employees make Wal Mart work.
Apple employees make Apple work.
What amazing insight.

This is also about 100% of successful businesses, no matter the race of the owner/manager.

The slave mentality comment is obviously ridiculous but he's not wrong in that NBA owners do a better job of building relationships with the players and treating it like a partnership than the NFL owners do. I think that's nice to see. If you don't care that's fine. LeBron obviously does and that's why he's talking about, albeit most people here are not going to be able to get past the opening line.
I know y'all want to equate pro sports to the real world all the time but it's apples and oranges. There is not near the skill difference between top pro athletes and the replacement level player than there is for most any other job out there.

As the original LBJ hater on this board, I’ll just drop this here:

No, he's saying employees make any business work, but he who writes the checks has the power.

NFL rosters are the biggest in pro sports and have the most turnover. NBA teams, or at least a large part of their core, stay together for years. Apples to oranges as you said.
And your comment about replacement value isn’t really that true, at least NFL wise. How many UDFAs are playing these days? A shite ton. Outside of a few positions, NFL teams can dig deep on their rosters as still keep chugging along if the rest of the roster is solid.

Bingo. The average NFL player has WAYYYYY more freedom and power than your average employee at a regular job.
The idea that NFL owners somehow mistreat or overly control is patently absurd.
NFL players, as far as employees go, have more power and freedom than almost every other employee on the planet.

You're right, I've never seen an NBA player traded or released without his say so.
