I am also pretty sure he had no stake in the Lakers in 2018

They are just saying Lebron borrowed 300 mill arranged through Guggenheim against his future non basketball earnings
That is something really common among ultra rich

Y’all have allowed the media to brainwash you simply by scrutinizing Lebron for 2 decades while protecting Jordan more than the MSM protects retarded democrats.
Way to go you dorks.

So….LeBron got a payday loan?
Serious question…is this against NBA rules?

Seems more like what extremely wealthy people do. They borrow against future or unrealized earnings, pay no taxes on that borrowed money.
You get spendable/investable cash now without accelerating taxable compensation into the current year. This can be particularly valuable if the income event is several years away. He can make that money make money now, keep the proceeds and pay off the balance eventually.
Interest is potentially deductible too, depending on investment of the money, but likely not.
I wish I had this problem to solve.

he got a market rate loan and Walter didn't own the lakers. Unless it comes out that there was some back channel deal that everyone knew he'd eventually own the team, i don't see why the NBA would care.
