So Lebron improves in the playoffs while MJ gets worse compared to the regular season.
How do you figure that?

Everything across the board for both players is virtually the same except for Jordan increasing his ppg in the playoffs by nearly 2 pts and LeBron increasing his rebounds by about 1.5 reb.

1. I was joking.

2. MJ's PER gets worse in the playoffs compared to regular season while Lebron's gets better, which is why I made the joke.

If the context is purely basketball talent/acumen, though, unbiased observers easily pick James. No question.

He is A freak of nature that MJ doesn't come close to.... But AGAIN MJ was better... He changed the game... Like Magic did when he came into the league in 1980.... Bron has NOT really changed the game except for ONE thing... His freak of nature athlete... He left Cleveland to get with what he could to FINALLY win A Title... But THEN LOST to Dallas with A STACKED roster...

I will Give BRON HUGE props for bringing his team back from A 3-1 finals last year... But OVERALL MJ was A better player............

Jordan did average 33/8/8

So to be fair, he could have if his team asked him to. Pippen and the triangle changed that

This is basically what I always say.

Anyone who doesn't realize that LeBron is technically better than basketball at playing MJ is in denial.

But that doesn't necessarily mean his legacy is greater than Jordan's yet. (Altho I think it may be personally)

This makes literally zero sense, the GOAT player has the GOAT career there's none of this separation crap to appease MJ lovers. Let me just underscore LeBron led 2 separate franchises to 7 NBA Finals appearances(likely 8 with this season still pending) in a 13 year career so far, that's tantamount to Russell's Celts and Magic in the 80s unprecedented stuff. LeBron's essentially a dynasty unto himself.

How would Jordan's legacy be different if he came up in the social media age?

Lebron James had the ability to be the GOAT player but Jordan had the GOAT career is what you meant to say.

You can't be the GOAT player without having the GOAT career.

Both statements are false. Bill Russell had the GOAT career Jordan is the GOAT player.

Depends on how you view team accomplishments.

I mean, there are a bunch of role players with no titles who were a tad better than Robert Horry, but wouldn't you say he was more accomplished?

If LeBron shot the ball more often, he'd be held in a higher regard by his haters. That's a fact.

More shots = mythical killer instinct

Being a better basketball player and making the better basketball play isn't always the sexiest thing to do.
