I’m glad he’s decided to play defense again

Most overrated player in NBA history- still doesn’t have a “go to” offensive move. Hakeem, Jordan even Leonard all have unstoppable scoring moves in the post.

This was the 5th game.

He is as rested as he has been in YEARS and looks motivated as hell. He probably won’t feel this good all year but if they make the playoffs we’ll probably be seeing elite Lebron James basketball every night.

What was Magic’s go to move? The Big O? Dr. J?

Imagine not having a go to move and still scoring more points than Jordan on less shots.

If someone told me 20 years ago that there would be a kid that comes straight from high school and is the best player in the NBA for more than a decade. He would win rings, MVPs, and final MVPs. He also would end up having more points than Mike and probably finish with more assists than Magic all while having a highlight reel that is unmatched.

There would be no way anyone could convince me he wasn't the best All-time.

We are talking about a guy that has a chance to be the All-time leading scorer in NBA history and scoring is not his best attribute.

Magic developed a baby sky hook that was highly effective in the post. Dr J never developed a signature move either.

LeBrick has been a poser since he entered the league - he planted himself in the Weak Eastern conference virtually his entire career - ensuring an annual trip to the finals to get destroyed by better players like Dirk, Duncan, Leonard, Durant, etc.

He travels, charges, and whines his way to his points. Not even in the top ten all time despite his bloated stats.

OP said go to move. Then further refined it.

Magic’s go to move wasn’t the baby hook. The king can score in the post. It’s been a reliable and consistent part of his game for at least 5 years.

the 2012-13 campaign:

"When he returned after the lockout, he was a totally different player," Spoelstra says. "It was as if he downloaded a program with all of Olajuwon's and Ewing's post-up moves. I don't know if I've seen a player improve that much in a specific area in one offseason. His improvement in that area alone transformed our offense to a championship level in 2012.“

quote:

Dr J never developed a signature move either.

Now imagine criticizing him for that.

Though I’d say his go to move was that baseline swoop.

His playoff failures alone make my case. He’s a shrinking violet in the crunch. He disappeared in multiple finals and then blamed his teammates for loses. He’s the worst poser and yes the most overhyped and overrated player in NBA history.

Not in the least, he's legit top 5 NBA player of all time.

He's just becoming not likeable.
