Him and Brady definitely had some medical backing. Brady looked in better shape in his 40s than his 20s when he was at the combine. That's not how normal aging works.

You cannot compare them to normal. Lebron is definitely a physical freak but the NBA is full of them. There isn't anything particularly extraordinary about Brady athletically. There are everyday people walking the street that are more physically gifted than Brady is. Where these 2 exceed everyone is a insane drive to stay in shape and take care of their bodies a crazy work ethic and unlimited money and resources to the best nutrition and training in the world. Also both have for the most part avoided a injury that would have had a long term impact on their career that you could not 100% recover from.

Wrong… wilt was a beast but basically had an unfair advantage as he play
Most of his career against a bunch
Of 6’5 players or shorter.

100% agree. You can put Jerry Rice in that same group.

I don't like the guy anymore, but he's still the best athlete of my lifetime and it's not close

I don't know if that's true. Here's a link where you can look at average ht in the NBA over time, by position etc. Seems to be very little difference from Wilt's era to today. Average ht seems to be about 0.5" higher today. runrepeat.com

If Wilt was 7'1" then he and Lebron have about the same differential when compared to others in their position groups. Every position group has gotten smaller for Lebron's entire career, except for PG. Centers and other big men were getting taller as Wilt's career went along.

Looks like the NBA has been getting smaller recently, with the peak in ht around the Jordan-Kobe eras, which was the start of Lebron's time, iirc.

You don’t have to like the guy to see what he’s doing is absolutely incredible.

But ration flies out the window for so many people when it comes to Lebron.

Yep. There were interviews where Irvin and Deion both said Jerry was the greatest, but never really enjoyed any of it. I can see guys like Brady, Jordan, LeBron and Kobe being exactly of that same makeup.

Always wonder what Rice might have been able to do late in his career (though he played great at 39) had he not gotten that nasty knee injury vs Tampa Bay.

He’s one that wasn’t able to avoid that bad injury. Lucky for him it was just one season, as he didn’t miss any other games.

If Lebron had to play against Bill Russell, he'd be out the league in 5 years.

You mean Russell, right?

v.

Also, Russell would be taken to the perimeter, where he would be exposed on defense.

In TODAY"S No-defense NBA? Yes, he's the goat. LOL!!!!!! Imagine Lebron trying his chit against the bad boys of the NBA Detroit, Boston and the Bulls defenses. Not happening.

Yes Lebron would be scared of one-on-one streetball giving him an open lane to the basket

People have nit-picked everything he’s ever done. Not his freakishness or willing to work.

Never see LeBron roll into camp 20 lbs heavy. Only Father Time will outwork him. As all of us. No matter what we are good at.
