Two things can be true at once.

It's hard to argue that Lebron's career isn't the greatest career in the NBA.

Having said that, had Jordan not taken years off to play baseball, perhaps this is a different conversation.

Anybody growing up watching Larry bird, magic, and Jordan will mostly say Jordan was the goat. People during bill Russell era will say it's him. It's hard to speculate for the younger generation unless you watched the games and not YouTube. The only team that was effective against Jordan was the Detroit bad boys. That was only because they hacked the hell out of him.

Early Jordan tried to win the games by himself. Then he learned to get his teammates involved. If he didn't miss the two years, he would have won eight strait championships without a doubt. Was a great era to watch basketball.

Lol it's ridiculous how little credit people give Kyrie for 2016 when he was arguably the best player on the court at times.
There was never a time Kyrie was the best player on the court when Lebron was also on the court.

Lebron also led both teams in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks so pretty obviously Lebron was by far and away always the best player in that series.

Championships are a team accomplishment. 6 out of 6 times MJ had the better team than his opponents. Take MJ off the Bulls and the opponents best player and the Bulls still win 6 titles

They must have won the NBA championship when he left to go play baseball then

The Bulls went 55-27 and lost in the Conference Semi’s to the Knicks.

Not a championship but definitely doing quite well without MJ

How did James have a better career than Tim Duncan?

Duncan has 5 rings and was 2-1 against James in the Finals.

The gap between a team that wins one best of-5 playoff series and a 72 win second 3-peat most dominant greatest dynasty of all time...is quite large

I agree. But you have to admit how ridiculous it was when LeBron took the Cavs to the finals and the following year when he left they went 19-63.

From 61-21 to 19-63 without one player.

Edit: they actually lost in the semis his last year not finals

I doubt it.

Rockets were pretty good in those middle years. Plus, no break between the 3-peats puts more miles on the car and affects the hunger they had for the second 3-peat. I don’t think the Bulls win 8 in a row.

Lebron was the better player with him dragging those otherwise terrible Cavs teams to 4 straight finals.

Why hasn't he been able to drag an equally crappy lakers team to the finals?

Shaq and Kobe are likely a couple rings short of their current count without Robert Horry.

I rarely hear anyone say Shaq & Kobe's rings are less valuable because they were surrounded by HOF'rs.
