So, what your saying is all white people are like the two individuals in this situation? Am I understanding you correctly?

Yeah, a down vote answers the question

I assume somewhere in this 17 pages somebody has already posted whitlock's response to lebrony's concern trolling...

as usual he is spot on calling out the hypocrisy of sheltered, pampered, unfathomably rich athletes including themselves in the "we"

The question is why does it bother ANY of you if Lebron comments on this?

Are you "truly down" for the cause and upset that he's only an impostor?

The man is black, rich and has experienced discrimination and so does his family. You don't escape it because you have money.

He has an opinion. Be mad.

It just irritates me that lebron will exaggerate as muchas he does. It’s like he’s purposely inciting a black vs white type of situation nationwide

Like him or not, a person with as much pull as lebron needs to be more careful with his words. If anything, take the high road, send out a ‘thoughts and prayers’ tweet to the family if he feels the need.... but to go all out blacks vs whites is pretty irresponsible IMO

I think that’s what ruffles people’s feather the most

This is what white people say anytime someone mentions that the centuries old history of racism in this country still exists. This is just like when slave masters in the 1800s complained about abolitionists "stirring up trouble" and "inciting the blacks." When your focus in mainly on keeping people docile instead of addressing societal issues you are in the wrong. Especially when you have no problem with white people getting up in arms (literally) over any perceived injustice no matter how trivial.

You know it’s possible to think these guys should fry and that Lebron said something stupid, unless you agree that black people are literally hunted everyday/every time they step foot outside of their homes. This isn’t that complicated.

Over the top, but the video of course is insanely egregious.

“This is what white people say anytime someone mentions that the centuries old history of racism in this country still exists. “

This statement that all white people argue our nations history doesn’t exist is flat out dishonest. Nobody besides people like you distorts or erases history in this country and what you’re really trying to assert is that slavery still exists which is also 100% false. What LeBron did was take a horrible act committed by 2 individuals and blamed a broad group for it. You can lie and spin that anyway you want to but you and him are both wrong and more racist than anyone pointing out his dishonesty and hypocrisy. You don’t see anyone using Lebrons comments to say “all black people” buy you and that other retard sure have no problem attacking people based on race alone.

Oh I never said white people argue our nation's history doesnt exist. I said they love to act like that history is just some relic of the past instead of an ongoing problem. And I dont see how you can assert that I am saying slavery still exists just because I recognize a similarity in the MINDSET of many white people then and now. White slave masters did not want anyone or anything making black people feel the need to revolt against their oppressive system. Similarly, today we have white people who complain anytime someone mentions racism because they dont want black people being incited to rally against injustices. Therefore, when someone like LeBron makes a statement that is clearly not intended to be taken literally but is used to demonstrate the appalling nature of the circumstances many white people get mad at HIM for "causing racial tension" instead of getting mad at the people who caused the whole situation and took another human being's life in the first place.

Well that’s just a bunch of bullshite right there.

He’s a smart enough guy to be able to demonstrate the circumstances of this situation without acting like this is an everyday occurrence for black people everywhere.

quote:

many white people get mad at HIM for "causing racial tension" instead of getting mad at the people who caused the whole situation and took another human being's life in the first place.

Me getting mad at them does no good. What would it change? Nothing. They’re getting charged with murder and should be going away for a long time. That problem has been dealt with.

However, talking to Lebron (or people that support his statement) about how his statement is completely ridiculous and does more harm then good actually has a purpose. And its not white people just trying to prevent black people from rallying against an injustice. It’s to keep anybody (black or white) from having the thought that what he said was reality. Because it’s not even close to reality. When you let dumb opinions go without questioning them, the dumb opinion spreads because some people can’t see the flaws in the statement. And you’ve already recognized that it’s a dumb opinion since you tried to act like he wasn’t being literal.

I'm assuming you talked to LeBron about that, right? I mean how would you know that it wasn't to be taken literally?
