I love how no one is going into detail on how Rodman is putting up points. Just a bunch of “Rodman would eat his lunch because he played defense in the 90s”

Rodman couldn't even think of stopping LeBron. As I stated previously you need team defense to stop a guy of that caliber. And I'm a MJ is the GOAT Lebron can't hold his jock guy.

I appreciate them both as the best 2 I have ever seen play. I got to witness the peak of both of their careers, as did the majority of the posters here. I don't like Lebron's off the court stuff. I think he is nowhere near as intelligent as he portrays himself and can be incredibly cringey. I get not liking Lebron the person. I can understand the LeFlop nickname, but I watched his whole career and remember when the best defense was to rough him up because he was so big that he could take hard fouls and not get the call. So, I understand why he started it and where it came from. All that said I can appreciate the guy for what he is on the court and what he has done. He just wrapped up season 23, putting up numbers that would be the peak avg for a lot of high end players in their prime in the box score. There have been a lot of athletes I didn't like, but I appreciated getting to witness. I don't understand people who can't do that. How do you watch a Lebron, Bonds, Brady, Tiger, Ovechkin, etc. and not appreciate the athletic feats you are seeing for what they are?

6'7" 210lb Rodman?? That Rodman?

Lebron would bully his arse and no amount of 90s grit & downvotes (with no comment) will change that fact.

Never happened, you read this and are repeating media which is what you both do. You didn’t witness it because it’s not real.

The NBA discourse on this site is comically stupid. It’s actually quite fun to read, a continuous creative writing exercise to make people feel safe in their opinions.

I swear you could get away with a LeBron isn’t even top 10 all time opinion here

Interesting, so if we look at shots in the paint vs free throw attempts you are saying that we wouldn't see an outlier player based off the correlation? Or are those stats moving goalposts because they don't prove 'your truth'?

It could just be Tide and myself watched games, saw the articles, see the stats to back it up and say that's reality, instead of having a stance and saying everyone and everything else is wrong because the MSB agrees with me.

100% agree. I am also firmly in the Jordan GOAT camp, but this worship of Rodman is just not accurate. Karl Malone averaged 27 ppg in matchups vs Rodman with Rodman only needing to play traditional post/spot up defense. LBJ is basically the same size as Malone but is 3x (if not more) capable of putting the ball on the floor or extending Rodman out to the 3 pt line where his speed then gives him even more of an advantage. LBJ would be bothered sure, but he isnt getting stopped by Dennis.

I try to remind folks that the Bulls got Rodman for Will Purdue straight up. Purdue had basically shown he wasnt worth his high draft pick and was not the center of the future Krause envisioned. Rodman got traded for a backup center. The entire league could have had him for peanuts because he only provided help on one end of the floor and was a total shitshow off of the court. Phil and Jordan gave him the chance to be a HOF player. It is only because Jordan was so freaking incredible that they could plug Rodman in and let his limited skills flourish and it not kill the team. Horace Grant was actually a better player than he was IMHO.

lol of course you’d try to frame it in some dishonest way. The league curbed all its rules for him, so nobody could even touch or impede him but instead of the outcome they wanted the guards and shooters took over the league. Nobody in NBA history has been officiated more favorably or given more calls than Lebron James.

There are at least a dozen players in the league right now (Harden, Butler, Brunson, SGA, Embiid, Giannis, even his teammates Luka and Reaves) who get far more favourable whistles.

Says the guy who’s told what to think about sports by people who’ve never played or coached it. Buddy, if I’m on the polar end of the argument from you that’s nothing but a good thing.

I disagree with both of you. I think LeBron was officiated pretty fairly. He didn't use those ticky tactics like Harden and he didn't get the Shaq treatment where he got killed with no foul call. I think LeBron got a pretty similar whistle as most superstars.

You guys must not remember his prime. You could not touch him, you couldn’t bump him, get in his way or challenge him at the basket.

I watched every single playoff game LeBron played in during his prime. I actively rooted against him most of those games too and I never thought he got some crazy favorable whistle.

I’m forever a Jordan guy (see UNC flair) and I don’t even like LeBron but this is just blatantly false. How exactly do you think teams were able to beat him considering the amount of drives he did per game? The best defense against LeBron was the Spurs where Bowen or later Kawhi would stand off of him to get a better angle and try to bump him off his path, then you’d have nail help from a guard, and then Duncan would body him at the rim.

I don’t even need to pull up highlights just literally search any singular game LeBron played in the Finals and you’ll see tons of defensive attention and physicality directed his way on his drives.

Why do we have to lie about this stuff?
