If anyone was interested in seeing the final 12k of the tomorrow's finish. Safa Brian road it with his bud Taylor
Safa Brian rides final 12k of stage 1
Sidenote for any of you sickos that ride the trainer he has some pretty good stuff to watch while doing so. His downhill sends are legit insane.

Pog revenge Tour. Vingegaard is only guy that stands a chance to change that.
We'll see if Pog can ride himself into shape but his comments and the fact that the team is considering Yates co-leader says that the injury has really cost him fitness.
Maybe Vingegaard will come in too hot and pay for as the race goes on but he looked dominant at the Dauphine.
This GC could still be exciting but next year might be the epic setup if everybody stays healthy with Jonas, Remco and Ayuso and Pog.

This is a big story to me - how has the injury affected his training?

If Froome doesn’t get broken in half by that wall in 2019 right before the Tour I think he wins his 5th.
That's a good point and I'd forgotten about that as well. I do remember Armstrong going after Froome - I think that was the crash where he was putting on a jacket, took his hands off the bars and lost control. Armstrong was beside himself that Froome was careless like that.

He was on his TT bike (rear disc and 80mm front) and caught a crosswind gust at the same time he was putting on a jacket. The wind was strong enough to literally push him off the road.

I think tomorrow will be more GC than most are thinking…a hard stage with lots of players will thin the field and fireworks are the order of the day.

Chris Horner uploaded a new video about an hour ago. Talked about Soler-ism and that history and then talked about Wout and his Van Art-ism that he was pulling in the past, particularly last year's TDF.
I can easily see Wout going for a stage win rather than helping Jonas and putting Pog in yellow, perhaps tomorrow.

Underway and the broadcast pretty much opens up with a piss break for the riders.
About 130km to go.

So NBC doesn't plan on putting many stages on traditional cable but instead 75% are peacock only?
I'm not a huge fan of NBC's coverage to begin with, so if I'm going to pay to watch does anyone have any other options they would suggest?

GCN and a VPN. You can get 30 day free trial and then access GCN. I’m already about to blow a gasket over having to listen to Bob and Phil. Phil essentially calls no races all year and then tries to jump in for the Tour. Doesn’t know names and just straight butchers the biggest race of the year.
Just called Matthew B. Of TDE Allaphillipe. Prime example. What an idiot

How does Cofidis blow this stage?
I mean they’re not allowed to win stages in the Tour

Tadej pulling his best Jasper from last year

That was a great move by the Yates brothers after that climb, to pull away and finish 1 & 2.

Good stage and great seeing Pog having no problems with the effort. Too bad we didn't get a photo finish with the Yates twins.
But yeah, I'm back with Eurosport for the duration even with Hatch or whichever hysterical lead announcer they're using and McEwen's lame jokes.
Phil has been past his prime for at least a decade and a half but Bob identifying a rider as Remco...that was bad. Vandevelde and Horner would be really good together.

Is the GCN premium not available in the US? Gotta have a VPN?
Just looked and answered my own question. shite, guess I’ll grab Peacock for convenience.

As far as the race, not sure how TJV blew that when they had the front. WVA seems off; where’s the aggression from last year. He’s been kinda meh all Spring.

Pogacar looked great. I don't know if we are to read anything into his look back at Jonas and then Jonas shaking his head 'no'. It was toward the end and the fans were really crowding the road (they were pretty hyped today and I didn't see any women with signs for their grandparents or cell phone sticks hitting riders in the face so that was good), so I don't know if Jonas just wanted to keep things single file with the fans so close or if he was saying "i'm not pulling" or what.
Both looked great, finished with the same time, although it looked like Pog definitely has more kick / sprint for the end, just like last year.
Not a fan of NBC's team so far. Chris Horner and Christian in studio were good. I hate to say it but Phil is getting up there. It's hard to carry on the magic that was Phil and Paul with Bob 'in the field'. I'm thankful NBC sticks with the TDF. A few years ago they said they were steady losing money by covering it, but they kept doing it because of how important it is.
