I've never watched the Blind Side. Not my type movie.
OH....you thought you were going to look cool on a message board?
Better try again.
Now, tell me about the movie.

Teams didn't change their offense. Nobody does that. NFL teams have their offense and we're going to beat you because we'll execute better than you.
Yes, they did.
LT was the most disruptive player to ever play the game.
Ask Bill Parcells what teams did to prepare for LT.

Saints were stupid to draft GEORGE ROGERS NO. 1 OVERALL over him in 81 despite that LT was essentially a consensus no. 1 overall pick around the league but Bum Phillips HAD TO HAVE an Earl Campbell in New Orleans (in the Saints’ defense, Earl Campbell meant a ton to the Oilers’ great success of the late 70s and they did draft Rickey Jackson so not like they came away empty that draft).
As great as LT is and he obviously deserves arguments for GOAT, does he receive the same type of all-time accolades had he not played for a flagship, legendary NFL franchise flanked by the nation’s largest media market? It’s possible because he was that consensus no. 1 pick out of college but probably doesn’t reach the mass marketing level that it did. Quite frankly, Bobby Bell was every bit as good if not better than LT was and no one ever mentions him as a GOAT player, Hugh Green, Hollywood Henderson, Andre Tippett, and Lee Roy Selmon trended the same way until drugs took out Hollywood, Tippett toiled for a very dysfunctional organization, and same for Green/Selmon with small market expansion Tampa. I truly believe LT’s all-time reputation derives from a combo of his accomplishments and the team/market he played for. Nevertheless, the 1986 Giants are a low-key GOAT team, they simply tore opponents apart and LT was the ringleader of that.

I have no idea who this is.
I'm taking LT because ya know the whole Cocaine/crack thing.
Along with talent, LT was a legitimate psychopath. Probably one of the "baddest" men to ever play the game.

Different positions. Butkus was a MLB who made tackles from sideline to sideline.
LT was a blitzing OLB.

CSB alert
Sometime in 1989 I walked into a Chapel Hill bar to meet some friends. Walking towards me, leaving the bar is a very large framed man with a scowl on his face. As we passed I did not make eye contact.
When I found my buddies they asked me if I passed LT leaving the bar. I told them I suppose I did. Dude was intimidating even in street clothes. Not long after that was when he was busted asleep in his car.

I work with older guys who are giants fans, they claim to me he smoked crack at half time.
Tell me about a game he played with a torn pec, tied his arm to his body and played with one arm.
Had something like 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in that game.

My dad and his friends were huge giants fans in the mid to late 80s and they all have great LT stories.
Ive also heard numerous super sad crackhead LT stories too.

Sort of exagerating and hyperbole. They had to plan on not having a stiff white guy at left tackle from Boston College. Teams didn't change their offense. Nobody does that. NFL teams have their offense and we're going to beat you because we'll execute better than you.
It's not exaggeration and hyperbole though. LT was unblockable. You could double and triple team him and he would still get to the quarterback. Teams that tried to put a TE on him or chip him with a RB got destroyed. Offenses had to create a gameplan around stopping LT. You can hear this straight from the mouths of his opponents, it's not some made up legend.

LT would feast on these mobile qbs. Once they start running, the rules change. He would put a hurting on them.
