It's not just about "getting a lesser package". Lesser players and shipping him out East is a bigger win to me than getting a little more and having to see him in the playoffs every year. Tell me which western conference team or fans besides LA wouldn't agree. I don't think its a question he goes out west. The best part is that LA just released the biggest package they could and we haven't even gotten our offers from Bos and NYK. LA is desperate but even more concerning, possibly hopeless.

Do you really think they have been "bidding on themselves" while offering all of this extra stuff? They obviously want to get it done before NYK gets their lottery or Bos can offer a package. And they won't so it will be extremely difficult to offer anything else.

See, I don't get this logic.
If you got the best Lakers deal, the Lakers know the only reason you'll ever come back to them is if Boston and/or NY don't match.
Then you either have Boston come over the top or you're stuck with the Lakers knowing the market dropped. NY is wholly dependent on the lottery bc they have little outside that.

I would literally rather take JUST the Knicks pick (if top 3) or JUST Tatum from BOS than the Lakers packages I've seen so far.

At this point I don’t care if he walks next summer for nothing. This all started with Rich Paul, Lebron, and the Lakers organization so frick ‘em all. I’d ship him anywhere else out of spite at this point.
