Yes, they really could have stuck it to them by taking abunch of players the Lakers don't want in order to pair their superstar with a superstar, and giving in to a situation the Lakers colluded to create with Klutch.

That would have shown the Lakers!!!!!!1111

LAL backing out of AD talks
Due to outrageous requests from NOLA... this is stemming from a report by the LA times.
LA Times, got it.

Picayune's gonna look a bit different, "LA backs out of AD talks due to Pels not accepting their outrageous requests."

AD's still gone, and when he leaves, the remainder of the roster...well, we'll see how it goes.

It’s not about not wanting them. It’s about making a trade for an all nba player and generational talent.

And that offer made was an overpay no matter how you slice it.

They can still do that in the offseason.

I doubt that same offer is on the table in the summer.

Idk if you understand but this week is pretty much a giant troll towards LA. We never had intentions on making a deal thursday. There is 0 reasons to rush it that would help us besides some crazy John wall type crap happening. We asked for more every offer to show them we arent going to just hand him over and that we don't value their assets too high.

The Lakers have never made an offer that was "overpaying" for AD or that likely can't be topped in the offseason.

LA offers crappy trade and accuses Pels of being greedy.

Why?

Do the Lakers want AD in the summer? If yes, that offer will still be there.

That offer Magic threw out yesterday was an overpay. We can agree to disagree.

I guess that might still depend on whatever offers may be out there.

Because if Pels are coming back to the Lakers that means that Ainge tried to finesse the shite out of them, and Knicks have a lame offer. So the ball would be in the Lakers court. Why give all of that up when you’re now in control?

If there is only one team bidding, how can you determine that it's an overpay? It's hard to judge value when you only have one team with offers. Let Boston and New York join in on the fun and value can be better determined.
