Wildcat Stadium in Abbeville is owned by Vermillion Parish School Board but VC doesn't play on it.

Bobcat Sadium is owned by St Landry Parish School Board but St Ed's doesn't play on it.

Lafayette Stadium is owned by Lafayette Parish School Board but Teurlings, STM and a whole bunch of other private schools in Lafayette don't play on it.

Jacket Stadium is owned by Iberia Parish School Board but Catholic High and Highland Baptist don't play on it.

What makes Notre Dame so special that they have the need to share a field owned by the School Board when none of these other private schools do?

Public school means a public facility… it’s basically a law that stadiums are made available to other schools in an area…

I find it pretty hilarious that Vermillion Catholic, a tiny 1A school has their own field in Abbeville, but Notre Dame, a 2A school(and was 3A at one point) doesn't.

I would say Crowley isn't big enough for two stadiums but Eunice and Abbeville can do it. I believe they're all about the same size and population.

Crowley is definitely big enough. We aren't talking Church Point or Rayne here. Unless it's been changed in the past 10 years, I remember Gardner Memorial being plastered with Crowley Gents all over the stadium. Hell, even the scoreboard said "Crowley High School Home of the Gents" lol.

That's got be a little disheartening for ND.

Just like all the times Notre Dame went to the Dome should be disheartening for Crowley

I hope they enjoyed those six championships. They won't ever see another with LCA in their district.

Only made it to the second page of this thread, but you sure are defensive lol
That was a year ago you fricking tool.

And yeah I’m defensive when assholes who know nothing about a program accuse them of cheating.

No one has any proof of ND recruiting players. It’s all hearsay. If ND recruited, they’d at least have some good black skill players.

What law is that?

If it’s owned by the (public) School Board it doesn’t seem like a private school would have any legal right to use it, not to mention liability and insurance issues. Not saying it doesn’t happen or can’t happen, just questioning this law or legal right yall speak of.

Wait until this board finds out that Notre Dame doesn’t have their own baseball stadium either and uses one owned by the city. Omg the horror

You can't do that. You can only offer assistance that is available to the student body at large. I'm sure there are ways around that, though. I am not sure LCA does that.

There most def is financial “assistance” given out if you can play. I’ve seent it. Friend of the family’s son goes to a private s school in Shreveport that they otherwise could not afford. And the kids a good kid but the scholarship sure wasn’t given because of his grades

This is the stuff that shitty public schools in acadia/jeff Davis have been accusing ND of for years but can't actually point proof of it happening

How about public schools get their asses academically out of the porta potty and maybe some of those students, (including “athletes”) will stay in public schools. Besides, EVERYBODY wants to be associated with a WINNER.

I would believe there is a bit of difference when it comes to something owned by the City of Crowley and something owned by the Acadia Parish School Board. Notre Dame is a part of the city so they can play at the baseball field. I don't feel that a school not associated with the school board that owns the football field should play home games there.

Their parents pay taxes to that system, why shouldn’t they play there?

pretty sure they pay to play there and crowley high gets first dibs on when they play. It isn't like they are kicking Crowley High out of the stadium. They play there when its available and they play in Rayne or on Thursday when its not

Also when Crowley played ND and it was ND's turn to be the home team they had to play in Rayne because Crowley wouldn't let ND be on the home sideline

Do you hate ND that much that you don't want them to be able to use a good facility a mile from the school?

My wife and I pay taxes to St. Martin Parish. My kids go to a private school in Lafayette and never stepped foot in a St. Martin Parish school.

So, if I decide to start up a private school in St. Martin Parish and have a football team, I have a right to play at the Breaux Bridge, Cecilia, or St. Martinville football fields?

I honestly don't care where they play. I just don't know why they don't have their own stadium when other smaller catholic/private schools have them.

Edit: So, they play in Rayne too? My point above just sounds better. Get your own stadium and you won't have to worry about scheduling around other teams.
