call it what it is
it's a business. bring in collective bargaining, stop acting like these guys are still student athletes. once people just rip the band aid off and see the sport for what it is there can be some change. it sucks and I hate it but this current edition of the sport isn't sustainable

What he's saying makes sense but not with the NCAA providing oversight.
The most logical scenario is a consolidation of power 4 conferences plus ND.
Get rid of the conferences and set up a league with regional divisions.
Sure that will create a serious division among haves and have not but that's the price of doing business.

Landry is a very very intelligent man. You might not agree with some things....welcome to Louisiana politics, but you aren't smart if you think jeff is dumb.
And he’s a grandstander… you think he believes half of what he says and the positions he has?

I don’t think 100% of LSU fans are behind Lane.
Probably because he’s Lane
We thought BK was a mercenary

I think it needs a complete overhaul in every facet. Not just conference alignment and what to do with notre dame…
Like a complete enema purge of the corporate interests milking every ounce of profit out of the game… without respect for the game.
2 years ago the changed the clock rules so that they would have shorter games within the same exact time slot… meaning, on average, each team has 2 less possessions per game and even more commercials…
They changed the fricking rules of the game to sell even more commercial time… frick these people, they need to be removed from decision making entirely

Loads of people want to "fix" it but few have an actual plan

Well for 1, leaving every decision up to corporate interests has caused a lot of damage.
You need to find a way to give NCAA its teeth back or some non-profit entity that preserves the game for fans…
Its a national treasure. I would even go as far to say treat the game like we treat the national parks and monuments via the department of interior.

He is Not Wrong! CFB and College Sports as a Whole is Royally Fd at the Moment. A 21 year old that drafted in 2023 was just cleared to play Basketball for Baylor. Total F'ing Shite Show!!

You guys obviously just started watching college football if you think it’s bad and needs fixing. Where were when guys like me, a GT fan, was pointing out that Dooley was buying players and won a Natty in 1980 by doing it. Where were you guys when guys like me were pointing out that universities were admitting people who could barely speak English let alone legitimately complete a university major.
Those of you who say stupid things like “let’s burn it down and start over now that these players aren’t real students” should have been saying this 50 years ago. But you didn’t because your teams benefitted from allowing moron athletes into your school. Now, that everyone can admit morons who can run and jump you think the world is ending and suddenly we just burn it down. It’s been needed burning for 50 years but now that is impacting your team you want changes, I laugh at you because 90% of teams have been dealing with this crap for decades while your teams paid recruits to flip and you sure didn’t mind it when holding up trophies.

He’s not wrong, the current state of college football is a disaster.
Correct, and only getting worse each year. Kids being bought and sold all over the place. Have a mid year here, hit the portal.

But Jeff Landry isn’t going to fix it.
Correct again, my thoughts here, in true politician form, he noticed the ungodly amount of money passing around pockets and he’s trying to figure out a way to put his own pocket in the rotation.

Why do I keep hearing the LA governor talking about college football?

Did someone really post that the NCAA needs to be given its teeth back? In what world has the NCAA ever used its teeth against any team other than the little guy? They gave SMU the death penalty yet UGA bought Herschel and Auburn bought Cam and crickets. Lawrence Phillips was illiterate yet he was allowed into a NCAA member institution. UNC had fake majors just for athletes and nothing. The NCAA is over as a real entity. It ain’t coming back.

Anyone that doesn’t want the 10 commandments in school deserves to live in an urban crime ridden shithole.
If you are offended at basic tenets of good living, you are the problem, Not the Gov.
