Have they brought Ramona Shelburn on yet? She will be a wreck. This is all just incredibly incredibly sad.

Yes. She definitely sounded like she was holding back tears or had been crying.

She was being interviewed via phone shortly after it was reported and she was squalling and so shook up she couldn’t even remember how to get to the Lakers training facility 10 minutes away

You wouldn't have the guts to say that to my face. Neither of any of internet badasses. Losing a loved one is way worse than this. Way worse! Get over you love affair for a player, regardless of sport.

Lose a loved one and see how bad that really hurts.
There's always 1 guy that has to try to be the dumbest in a thread.

And we've found our winner.

ESPN is unique in that many of these people had long relationships with Kobe as they do with many athletes. I don't think they are thinking in a cut throat manner on this one

I didnt mean it to sound cutthroat. My point was it's surprising it took them so long to confirm specifically because of those relationships you brought up.

Yeah I don’t think Kobe’s spoken to his parents in almost 20 years. All around sad situation

I really didn’t expect some of the bizarro responses in this thread. Comparing the life value of other celebrities to Kobe is just a weird reaction.

Everybody happy that Rick Fox wasn’t on the copter - you realize that the same number of people still died. So it was two 13 year old girls and 2 parents.
So be sad that Rick Fox didn't die?

This thread has devolved into absolute shite.

Crying over a player. Are we in bizarro world. Have you not lost a best friend, a parent, a close relative? Grandparents? That achieved a shite ton on their own.

Grieving for somebody you don't know???

My dudes, it really don't take that much effort to say RIP Kobe, and leave it at that.
Well said.

Was watching Jim Grey on Fox and he just received a text while on air. He wouldn’t say what it said or who it was from but he said if it’s true it’s big. Apparently showed the text to the Fox host and she was taken aback too. She also refused to say what it said. Ugh

This was immediately after they were discussing TMZ reports of his daughter being onboard.
