It should have been a squib kick or a kick short of the goal line.

Either are a better choice than what they did.

Protecting the sideline with 8 seconds left and the Chiefs in possession of a timeout is the one I can’t get over. They don’t have time for two plays. Protecting the sidelines there is meaningless. Let them run a 15-yard out. They end the game with a timeout in their pocket.

This is one of those games where both teams deserved to win and only one could. We saw this back in 2018 with the Rams and Chiefs on MNF.

Both defenses looked absolutely horrible. You could argue neither deserved to win because of their defense. It ended up playing out that the team with the ball as time expired won indicating defense was trash.

Yea, sky kick to the 5. Depends if it’s something they practice.

The dumber play was having any lineman on the last pass play. There is ZERO reason to rush. Mahomes has to throw it under 2 seconds anyway. You run zero lineman, 2 linebackers 5 yards deep to watch for Mahomes running or short pass

You squib it in hopes of either a player touching it and not controlling it for a few seconds thereby having the clock run or some guy thinking he is Tyreek Hill and tries to return it.

Bills probably thought there was no way the Chiefs could get in FG range with 13 seconds left.

I remember a game in Nashville in the 1999 playoffs where the Bills took the lead with under twenty seconds left in the game and didn't kick the ball out of the end zone. How did that work out for them?

I would have squibbed it with Chiefs having 3 timeouts. They just raped prevent down middle of field. Prevent with timeouts is useless

Over a third of the points in regulation were scored in the last two minutes. It wasn’t some game with 30 plus first downs and 600-700 yards of offense for each team.

Great offense almost always beats great defense. Y’all are being stupid about this.

Only way to play defense in the NFL now against a good QB is with a great pass rush

Great secondaries will get smoked against good Qbs

Chiefs and Bills have some All Pro caliber secondary players. Doesn’t mean shite against a good QB

The Bills really had the worst defensive strategy in that moment. You can't sit back and play prevent and automatically give them the ball at midfield. And you damn sure can't play prevent AGAIN once they have it close to midfield. Just horrible all around.

Should've had 1 rusher, 1 spy, man up every receiver, TE, and back (assuming 5 total), then have 4 people deep.

The kickoff was fine. They shouldn't have let the Chiefs advance that many yards with 13 seconds. That was absolutely pitiful

Yep

And this isn’t a novel concept. Rushing 4 made zero sense

Great game overall and one of the most entertaining I've ever watched.

I found myself rooting for the Bills to get over the KC playoff hump but believe Burrow and Bengals match up much better against the Chiefs.

I agree with this. It appears that the Bills D line is slightly better than the KC D line. This obviously helps Burrow because his O line is serviceable but not that great. It's going to be a tall task beating KC at home but if they do the Bengals are going to have to do it by playing keep away (from Pat Mahomes) in a timely manner...like they did during the regular season.
