While anyone can see KD's a bit salty (can you blame him? His team feels they should have won the west), I can't really disagree with what he's saying: Kawhi IS a bit of a product of the Spurs system. He's a special player. One of my favorites in fact, but isn't that kind of the point of the Spurs team? You don't necessarily have to be an all star, an MVP, or a scoring title holder to be a valuable Spur. To be a champion.

So I guess I agree with KD to a point.

Also know those guys are gonna be motivated as frick against us next season

It honestly looks worse if you delete it than if you just leave it up and apologize for it as a mistake.

I don't disagree with that he's somewhat a product of the system. But it's a POS thing to say, especially at this time. KD comes off really bad here. And to say he'd take George over Leonard, well that's just plain retarded.

The timing was just bad, although I don't think it ever would have been good

Kawhi is really good but he is indeed a system player. He is not elite, and I would have him somewhere in the 30-40 range in player rankings.

That's pretty uncharacteristic of Durant to bag on another player with comments like that. Durant is usually a quiet and humble guy. Probably my favorite player in the nba right now outside of the Brow.

Demps, go get KD and Kawhi to come to nola to play with the Brow. #real8championships

people for some reason like athletes who never speak. It doesn't matter that when they do speak they say something stupid, or say anything with substance...they just like athletes who don't speak.

Then they're shocked when they find out Marvin Harrisson is a gang banger or KD is a self absorbed TPOS

Well some people have been acting like Leonard was a God on the defensive end when Lebron was an absolute beast and the easily the best performer in the series. In top of that Leonard got constant help guarding Lebron by 1-2 players every time down the court.

So I think it was valid just bad timing.

Agreed.

Leonard is a very, very good player. Not sure he's a superstar in the making though. We'll see.

I take it you only read the headline last week, not the actual story!

exactly, we wonder why athletes sound like robots with cliche answers to everything and then get pissed when they have honest opinions. The timing seems petty, but hey that's his opinion.

He's not humble. He's just in a "please everyone" type of mode right now. He doesn't say these type of things normally because he doesn't like to rock the boat or be controversial. He's too worried about what fans will think of him. But he's learning that being like that doesn't really get you anywhere. It sure doesn't win you championships.

This comment is more indicative of the type of person he really is inside. As time goes on we'll slowly see more and more of the real KD.

He knows he's better than KL and is jealous of the attention he's getting now. He looks worse for deleting it though. Might as well own it at that point.
