Let me clarify, maybe it’s not sending them backwards, but it’s not really sending them forward either.
When it comes to a post season run, I’d take
Thunder, Wolves, Nuggets, Mavs, Spurs, and even the Lakers ahead of them.

The Spurs just won 34 games

How pissed is the NBA that this is getting leaked hours before Game 7? Honestly, screw the NBA. They get what they deserve.
Why would the NBA hate this?

The Rockets number one need is shooting. Durant's been over 40% from 3 the last two years.

They could’ve just moved on from green and got younger. Durant is a loser. This trade doesn’t get them any closer to a chip.
I don’t know if this trade puts them in legitimate title contention. But it did certainly move them closer.

Houston’s clutch offensive rating was around 106 and I think Phoenix’s was 115.
It should absolutely help Houston offensively in close games.

Don’t follow the rockets closely but I don’t understand how people think this makes them worse. Trading a couple role players for a guy you can count on to get buckets seems like a win for them.
Not that this matters a whole lot but also gives the team a star and will put asses in seats, I live outside of Houston and have never considered going to a rockets game, I’ll go next season to see him

Damn how did Durant get that value?

Dude how can they give up five second round picks !
The way they trade draft picks in the NBA cracks me up. 2nd round draft picks are about as valuable as Monopoly money.

Got Durant and Didn't give up Jabari, Eason, Whitmore, or Sheppard
Rockets made out fine on this trade

If he stays healthy, he can still give you 25ppg

Good deal for the Rockets. This in no way makes the Suns better. Beal Booker, and Green all play the same position lol.

Because there are so few superstars they create lists detailing the greatest 2nd round picks in NBA history. Jokic was huge for 2nd round picks but few and far between.

The Suns shouldn’t be trying to get better

I think its partially honoring Durants desires to leave and trying to make the roster a bit more flexible to make a additional moves. They probably dont care how good they're going to be for the most part.

Man, Durant has really hurt his legacy jumping from team to team. He use to be one of the faces of the league and must-watch for any NBA fan. Hardly anyone gives a shite about him anymore.

KD averaged 26 and was top 10 in the league in true shooting percentage this season.
The Suns were garbage, but KD still had a great offensive season. Obviously there’s no guarantee he stays the same player as he turns 37 this upcoming year, but I think in the west especially the Rockets had to take a risk and this one makes sense to me.

Green will get traded to someone else for future picks.

They got rid of their inefficient scorer/defensive liability and traded for an efficient scorer who can play so so defense and close games. Thats what they needed.
And they kept their 2027 Brooklyn 1st Round Swap Pick Rights, 2027 Phoenix 1st Round No Protections Pick, and their 2029 Dallas + Phoenix 1st Round Swap Picks Rights
