Well now it’s 2025… Karr, St. Aug, and Curtis were 1-2-3 in the state to a lot of people. That’s a nightmare

you are embarrassing yourself, your school and your community.

You wouldn’t even play those schools in the playoffs so why do you care?

Our coaches and principal are making these decisions. I know them so I’m defending them

Because you can miss the playoffs by losing to them in the regular season

wow

That’s even more embarrassing

I hope you don’t have kids and procreate this mindset of victim mentality into more people. But, that is basically Chalmette as a whole. Everywhere else in the state the GOOD publics aren’t afraid of private school teams. 1A is definitely the class for yall.

Yeah, just go beat Karr and John Curtis as an average nonselect school that’s happy to get to the quarterfinals we had a whole arse party for the first practice that week last year

Dude, you flip flop more than a politician. The amount of propaganda you spew on here regarding chalmette, trying to convince everyone else that yall are some elite school. Make up your mind…. You are a doormat program or you are an elite program. Which is it?

No , they tried to get away from them for FAIR competition, as Zachary and Catholic actively recruit kids, even though Zachary is non-select.

Big difference

. If Chalmette ever wants to raise a banner, MAIS is the only way.

Chalmette woud be in trouble even in the MAIS. They would be in a league with MRA. MRA went into Catholic this year and beat them. In the first round of the playoffs MRA got whipped 35-0 by JA. The top of the MAIS is full of SEC talent.

It’s been two decades, can we stop calling these people Chalmations?

I was displaced but I was back by 2010… that’s a more appropriate timeline

I think many schools want to play schools they might see in a playoff

Chalmette will never see any of the other CL teams in a playoff

That is a logical and rational take, however you don’t get to claim you are some elite program and then hide away from other elite teams. As stated earlier the best team Chalmette beat this year had 4 wins.

There were no legitimate reasons to break up the old 4-5A and 5-5A districts. District composition should not be determined by schools avoiding competition.

The Livingston Parish and Ascension Parish 5A schools are all very similar in most all of the sports offered by the LHSAA. Some teams have up years and down years, but overall the 6 schools that originally made up the 5-5A district have boys and girls programs that are able to field competitive teams within the district and then make a good showing in the playoff brackets. The term "like minded schools" was thrown around quite a bit when this district was being formed. The 4-5A district comprised of 4 select schools joined by Central and Zachary. If you use football only, a nice little study would be to find the percentage of the 22 offensive and defensive starters at Zachary and Central that went to the Zachay and Central Middle Schools. Then compare it with the 5-5A district teams and the percentage of their 22 starters that attended their feeder middle schools. You might find that those numbers would be very closely matched for the LP and AP schools while the Zachary and Central numbers would be closer to the numbers found with their select school counterparts in the 5-5A district.

Travel for all of the games was a big issue. Baton Rouge trafic is a nightmare. Think of all the 5:00 and 6:00 midweek JV games being played. The teams traveling from AP to Baton Rouge, or from Baton Rouge to LP have a brutal time. The travel for AP to LP is all done with back highways and even the farthest schools (Live Oak to Dutchtown is less than 45 minutes). Now that Catholic is going to join back with the LP schools I hope their parents enjoy fighting that traffice from Acadian Ave to Live Oak High School. They need to leave about an hour and fifteen minutes ahead of time to make sure to see kickoff / tipoff / first pitch.

Who has said Chalmette is elite?

Nice run to the quarters last year which Inspired confidence this year. Team lost last 2 games one in OT and one with 19 seconds in regulation, after giving up Q4 leads in both. Elite teams don’t do that.

Chalmette is in a curious spot. They have more talent and resources than the public schools in Orleans and Jefferson not named Karr. Their resources and support are on par with the Northshore and river parish districts. Their talent is middle of the pack with these schools,

Chalmette has some decent skill players. They lack beef on the lines (although that is improving) and as a team they lack discipline.,thise two things are holding them back.
